It's tough being 16. Is there a different place on campus where you and she could hang out and they wouldn't notice you? I did that in high school. I found a place to hang with a friend that wasn't in the path of traffic, and idiots quit bugging us.

A lot of the time what really infuriates people who want to put others down is the fact that they see you as someone they wish they were. The best reaction to something like that is to treat the whole situation like a joke, thus removing the power of the person who wants to “test” you. People who have power do not need to flex that power to be powerful; they rest assured that they are powerful. That’s where the phrase “he who must say he is king is no king.” That quote talks about how people who are self-assured do not need to prove that self-assuredness, they just are self-assured. Treat people who are annoying with kindness, and they hold no power over you. If they push you too far, tell them that they are pushing too much. If they do not change how they act with you after that conversation, they shouldn’t be your friend.

A lot of people in this world don't know how to feel good about themselves/make themselves look good without tearing someone else down. This especially arises with competition and any group of men will compete for fertile female attention whether they are aware of it or not.

Realize that those guys got nothing worth showing about themselves so they try to tear you down instead. Smile and laugh at their weakness.

Let me tell you something, from someone who has a daughter older than you, and is not physically strong nor imposing.

First thing is you have to access is if the shit test is physical or not.

If it is not, you may be at more at ease.

If it is, then you must have a more thought out plan.

In any case, shit tests are just fear tests, Your fear is being tested.

As an old saying goes, the only thing we should fear, it's fear itself. Don't give yourself to fear. I someone is fear testing you, you must go on a mindset of "I am gonna show this MF that I don't have any fear, and that if I have to die, right here, right now, I will, but I will take him with me".

Of course that is easier if things are just psychological/emotional.

If things are on the physical side, and you are physical inferior, you must have a plan. Either have a knife, a bat, some friends, or something at hand that can even things out. And once your confident with it, show no fear. Keep your calm and say that you are not seeking trouble, but if they want, they will have it, and it will be worse for them.

Don't react to verbal provocations, but let a witty comment. Around here we say that dog that barks, don't bite.

So the most important thing is to keep it cool, show no fear, and be ready for what might happen. If the worst that may come to you is go to jail, and the worst for the other guy is to have knife on his gut, or have his ass kicked into oblivion by you and a couple of your friends, trust me, the other guy will rather not have you in jail.

That's how things work.
