yeah, everytime i talk to my mother its the same few questions about girlfriends and grandkids. I politely tell her that i care about getting rich and buying property and funding my retirement. Thats my goals and idc about anything else. Women come and go outta my life, im not partial to any women and i dont chase after them when they go. Being that this conversation repeats itself evetytime we talk we are either going to stop it now as its very annoying, or i can stop talking to you as much because ive repeated this dozens of times and its very draining. Your call......that shut her up. AITA? yeah, but if you want to be taken seriously you gotta get serious sometimes.

It comes up every once in a while especially when we meet up with extended family (me da gave up already but me ma tries her best.)

I shut the conversation down by going “Nah, don’t wanna get divorced later” then swiftly change the topic and talk about how the divorced people in our circle of family and friends are doing.

I've had people say that to me, even my young cousins thinking im weird for not having a girlfriend by now (late 20s). It is something that requires deconditioning yourself from and those that haven't simply won't understand. I guess that's why they call it the red pill haha

I know the feeling, and I think it is because everyone around me is in a relationship that works for them, and they need a relationship in order to be happy. By default, they assume everyone does. They generally do not understand that some people do not need a partner to be happy or to feel complete: some people are perfectly okay with going their own way.

Personally, I've tried looking for a relationship for almost 10 years. I've met different women. I've tried having different approaches/views on dating and relationships. I just concluded that it just doesn't work for me. I have to give up too much freedom, and it requires too much effort to enjoy time with the women I've dated.

Minding my own business one quiet Thursday night, I had a unrequested knockdown drag out with my sister over this. We no longer speak. I can't have the conversation with her even if I wanted to because she is an incorrigible untrustworthy gossip.

Among other things, she started with "Why don't you date? Are you gay?" Much later with my patience worn to past a bleeding nub and into the bone, I ended it, after she, through hysterically crying, said ",lower your standards and man up or you are going to die alone". Thanks for the pep talk, sis. I hadn't even heard of the redpill yet. That's when I got online and started googling "what is the problem between men and women". I found the Misandry Bubble and two years later I'm typing this. That conversation in and of itself was like crushing it up and main-lining the redpill.

I suspect everyone lives through this annoyance and always have historically. That said, the complaining has never been so fervent or continuous until present day. Why is that? It's not that men haven't chosen this lifestyle before. Perhaps the danger has never been as obvious & treacherous. What is the economic benefit to me? Tax incentives? You mean the government will give me back some more of the money I earned? Wake me up when the government starts providing marriage grants, I might consider it.

It’s usually the opposite for me. My family tells me all the reasons why having a girlfriend would be a bad idea unless I’m planning to have children. They also see that I’m a musician and a guitarist in a band and running my own business that hasn’t taken off yet performing and my family is telling me I need a lot more stability. Also the musicians all warn me and tell me “man, I coulda made it big if I hadn’t got that girl pregnant, or, I had me a woman who looked amazing but when we was gettin’ big she divorced me and I didn’t sign a prenup and she ran off and messed it all up and took the money and I had to pay alimony!” With musicians, either the drugs get them, the drinking gets them, the woman get them, or they just don’t get lucky enough. Gotta make it as far as I can and not let any of the above be a reason, I’ve been warned traveling and performing by the older gen.

Typical conversation with my dad day one of a visit home

Dad: you seeing anyone Me: no Dad: you know you're not getting younger Me: single father most of my adult life, kids are grown and between work, training, and traveling I have little time for it. Dad: you know not all women are like the ex Me: I know, some are worse

It's much more involved and gets rather heated but it's the TLDR. Hence why I live halfway across the country and only go home for a visit every few years.

I have had to leave family things early because here comes the single friend of someone that they think I would really like.

Not to brag, but I’m fairly good looking so all the women in my extended family act all shocked and imply I might be gay for not being in a relationship even though I’ve had girlfriends before. My closer family know my last relationship is what made me avoid women so with them it’s not really a problem
