Supposedly the purpose of the paywall is to keep men from playing the numbers and swiping right on all profiles... but are women being similarly penalized?

No. Women are more selective and get a higher hit rate. So they will be less penalised.

This is another example of "we made it equal for everyone, so that means that men have to pay". It's because we have a different sexual strategy. And ours is both easier to charge for, and men are more willing to pay.

You might not like it and I accept that - but what you gonna do about it? How could you even imagine it being any different? You going to set up a "women pay, men don't" app? That's cute, but I'm not going to sign up until there's lots of women on there, which will never happen with that model.

I've been wary of Tinder since I saw a frankly mediocre 30 yr old woman ignoring anything less than a 6 foot 3 fireman with rippling abs.

Recently deleted my account after two years of daily use so maybe I can give you some insight-

Yes, the slut factor is off the wall. However the majority of them are only on there for attention/validation and will never actually meet anyone, ever. They're IRL sluts who go on tinder and feel warm and fuzzy inside as they read beta male compliments, right after fucking some guy they met at the bar. This is just a hunch of course and there's no way to really prove it. But consider 80% of those girls to be out of reach. There ARE some HB8's on there who will meet you if you play your cards right, but it's not a daily/weekly or even a monthly thing. Also: the numbers I'm giving you are based on the fact that I live in a large city where hypergamy is at an all time high, and good looks/smooth talking usually aren't enough to get you laid. Your chances would be a lot better out in the country, or in smaller towns. The only time I ever get messaged anymore is when I'm travelling.
I forget what the exact number of swipes is, but it's never really changed based on anything I've done. If you swipe right faster you will reach the number faster, that's all.
Yes, the swipe limit applies to both men and women. However most girls will never reach it because A: they're buried up to their neck with unread messages and pickup attempts, and B: they only swipe right on 10-20% of the profiles they see (there is no limit to left swipes) so it takes them 5-10x longer to hit the paywall

The swipe limit applies to women as well. However, women, especially as you move up the attractiveness scale, are less likely to play the numbers game, so they're less affected by it.

Having been on the app for awhile, the official reason the swipe limit was implemented was to prevent bots from populating the app. The limit, along with other methods like adding education and work info, has been pretty effective at wiping out bots. Like you said though, things do get skewed against men because of it.

Personally, I don't think the limit is a specific number. The best way I've found to avoid hitting the paywall is to avoid acting like a bot on the app. By that, I mean not swiping right indiscriminately, and filtering out the undesirables later. This takes more work in the beginning, but I'd rather put in the extra effort than hit the paywall.

I payed for a additional program which allows you to see all the women that swiped right on you. It was 4.99 I think. Worth every penny. No need to swipe anymore at all, you can match from the secondary app as well, use tinder after, for convo only. Just open up the app every day or two and see who liked you(there was a glitch in the app, you needed to restart it to see the likes). This is especially good for the guys who are not swiped on alot (like me), saved so much time.

It also allows you to change your profile location without traveling, effectively allowing you to test your new profile or pics in different locations/demographics. This is good because you can test your stuff outside of your community and get quicker feedback.

I counted the limit as around 120 profiles. When you hit the limit you get locked out for 12 hours.

I use and recommend the Flamite chrome extension to autoswipe for you. There are about 1 million people in my area and I got to "no new matches" within two weeks of this method, so the paywall is really more for impatient people, those who travel, or those in very population dense areas.

Tinder two years ago had girls giving it a shot to get some secret ass and do something new. Now its become cliche to hookup off tinder, thus way fewer chicks are interested. I did about 10 chicks off tinder summer 2014 alone. 2015 has been muuch harder and at this point its barely different than any other dating site except for the fact you atleast know the girl youre messaging liked you a bit, so it gets them off that high horse.

It feels like Tinder might just be another online nightclub, designed to to get men to buy all the drinks and keep the joint in business.

Haven't used it, but seconding this hunch. If women are inconvenienced then they'll go someplace else; men will go wherever the women are. If men are inconvenienced but they're in the same place as the women then they'll just bear it without complaint.
