Disagree, we are our past. Everything that we are is a result of our past.
It is why we care about women's sexual past so much.
But, the focus should be on teaching men the importance of failure. You do not become a winner by winning, you become a winner by losing.

I disagree. The past defines us. Every choice we made and every failures and successes shape you into the person of today. To think that not acknowledging parts of the past you are not proud of somehow defines you as a better person is a poor approach to take in life. Acknowledge every mistake and poor decisions you've made and how you've improved yourself and the situation to fix that. Just saying that it's all in your head is irresponsible and unrealistic in certain walks of life.
[–]Sir_manalot14 points15 points16 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This. Those that throw away there past are cowards who are trying to run away from responsibility.
[–]orphanoftech0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I couldn’t say that better.
[–]MyLittlePonyofDoom-1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Then just reinterpret and reframe your past into something positive.
[–]EdwardSandchest2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link
You really have to have a priveleged life to have such an outlook. Some people feel & live with the consequences of their actions; the way its supposed to be. Its unnatural to be so insulated from reality.
[–]MyLittlePonyofDoom-1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
You have a choice. Either wallow in the past and be a victim or look to the future and do whatever it takes to progress your life.
[–]lorddoorknocker0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The reply is meant to wallow in the past rather it is like end of the story 'all silent on the Western front'

I hear this everyday. But accusation, my loss of salary, and time lost from my career mean i wont ever be able to work up to my goals. People force me to live by my past and its time people recognize that.
[–]bulgaria_sofia2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link
so women become nawalt by making mistakes, by your logic, which as we know is incorrect
[–]nigga_phil3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
The rules are different for men and women...
[–]Sir_manalot-1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I didn't even mention women lol.
[–]bulgaria_sofia1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
You did. "this is why we care about womens past". You did mention women 🙃
[–]Sir_manalot5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Context matters.
Women do not learn from mistakes because they are anti-responsibility.
Women instead just get mental issues and become more hateful with each mistake they make.
[–]novhaku2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
No. Aknowledging our past gives us the POTENTIAL to become better. What you do with it is another matter though.
[–]Sir_manalot-1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
When did I say that, quote me.
[–]bulgaria_sofia-2 points-1 points0 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
"You become a winner by losing" aka "you learn from your mistakes"
So by using this logic of yours, sir, whores (the female equivalent of losers) should be becoming wife material (the female equivalent of winners)
There, I quoted you and I simplified it as much as I can, happy?
[–]Sir_manalot1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Women are not men.
I was talking about men and that is pretty obvious when I mentioned men in that post (and we references men since mgtow is men).
You are taking things out of context and twisting my words.
Cut the bullshit out.
I am not playing "so you are saying wr are lobster" games.
[–]bulgaria_sofia0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
So winners become winners by losing is only about men and not women, thats a further clarification you did make once questioned.
[–]Sir_manalot0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Men become winners by losing because they learn and adapt.
Women do not become winners by losing because they do not care to learn or adapt.
It is why all red pill groups all boil down to men improving themselves after discovering the truth. While women instead form groups that are about changing the system to force other people to deal with there screw ups (both conservative and liberal women do that).

I see both arguments and I think ur both right.

You're right, our personality is based off of all our individual experiences and we shouldn't try and run away from that, no matter how traumatic it may be.
However I think ruminating over what could be different and focusing on past events that have caused you trauma and are unchangeable can impact your ability to move forward. The past has happened and you can't change that, all you change is your outlook on it.
Sometimes you just need to stop thinking about the past and live in the moment and it's not about whether you win or lose, it's about how you pick yourself back up.
That is true.
[–]AdrenalineJunkySloth1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Right? Stupid logic saying the past doesn't matter. Yea I murdered 38 people but that was last month, all that matters now is the present, not the past.
On that note, let's burn all of our history books and records.
And if I punch you in the face for no reason, that's okay because it was 10 seconds ago so you need to learn to move on from the past. The past doesn't define you!
GTFO

I can see how a lot of people can give up.
Looking at economic side, if you made a mistake, and still paying for it today., that’s the mistake that’s hard to forget and to enjoy the present and future.
So past mistakes can follow you and cause mental stress to the very end unless you dig yourself out of it. Some can dig out quickly while, others could takes years. Sadly many know they can never dig out of it with endless obligation that you can’t get out from Bankruptcy.

Great predictor of a person's future behavior is observing past behavior.
Ex. Marry a woman with a high body count.. she gonna cheat.

Caine: Is it good to seek the past, Master Po? Does it not rob the present? Master Po: If a man dwells on the past, then he robs the present. But if a man ignores the past, he may rob the future. The seeds of our destiny are nurtured by the roots of our past.

It used to drag me down. I used to feel the weight of the burden of the past heavily on my shoulders every morning when I woke up. I'd feel tired, ache, miserable and remember all the embarrassing bullshit, failures and lost love. It was causing my body to deteriorate faster and greys come in. It wasn't until I truly just let go and stopped giving a fuck did I really feel any better

[–]itwasntme190 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Past makes us strong, lots of things I regret doing but it is never late to start over. I learned to love change and starting over. It's quite powerful to reinvent yourself and adopt new deciplines. If you're not happy where you are at this moment, let go and hard reset your life.

Im greatful for my past as it lead me to know how to avoid it from repeating and what to do instead. We are all products of our environments and past, how good if a quality of a product you are (if you want to further use that metaphor) is up to you.

There is no past nor future. There is and will only ever be the here and now, i.e. the present.
The past (i.e. yesterday) when you were in it was nothing more than the present in that moment of time.
The future (i.e. tomorrow) when you get there will again be the present in that moment.
Live for right now because that’s all you have control over.

So I think this a true statement, I’m so scared to move ahead in my career. I have said and done a lot of stupid things.
I feel like if I move up I will become a target
