is he wrong? You, as a Canadian citizen, immigrated or born, can't honor those who died to keep Canada safe by wearing a poppy on your jacket for one day? I'll just end this with his comments after the fact:

Never knew about this guy, but I already have respect for him. Not just because of what he said and because I don't see how this is offensive, but more importantly, he didn't back off. He got fired and that's a pity, sure, but I hope the guy has a good retirement fund so he can live out his days

it is absolute insanity, as he's been the same for 90 years. How is it now just a shock that he calls a spade a spade...

You either get those that agree with this notion or those that are shrugging it off. The problem is that both of these sides are completely oblivious to the deteriorating society that surrounds them.

Ok so Don Cherry may have a point about about paying respect for veterans on remembrance day, the WWI veterans are gone and the WW2 veterans are almost gone, we cant forget the wars for many reasons, it's more important than ever.

The problem is that he singled out immigrants, it was xenophobic, no doubt about it.

If he had said a general " I see less and less people wearing a poppy, it's so important to honour those who gave everything so we can have our way of life today" But no, he went on a tirade about the ungrateful people that came to this country and dont appreciate what they did for you.

And the problem is a general concern , instead he blames the immigrants.
