This is how "justice" works.

In the U.S., and i'll assume in the UK, there's this false message spread through television detective shows to imply police investigate crimes.

They do not.

If you're arrested, you're already guilty. They follow the easiest, and cheapest, apprehension of the criminal, then all energy is formed to fabricate, find, and manipulate evidence to give to the prosecution to lie, manipulate, and discredit evidence showing innocence or casting doubt, on whatever the prosecution has.

There is no grand investigation with sexy detectives searching for truth. They don't give a shit. It's whatever closes the investigation the fastest, which mean planting evidence, manipulating witnesses, threats, torture, whatever works.

They simply do not care, they close a case, the prosecution gets a trial off their docket, etc.

They do not care, and they don't hire people for those jobs who are supposed to. Where I am, Florida, they do IQ tests on the police to eliminate any with too high an intelligence. Intentionally.

There will never be a reason to talk to the police about anything ever.

Simultaneously, for years they've pushed the negative that to serve on a jury is only what idiots do, to intentionally drive away anyone with a brain from serving on a jury. They only want the stupidest people on there to secure a conviction.

The best defense is to serve on a jury any time you're asked. Vote "not guilty" on any case if there is the slightest doubt. Learn tricks so that you'll be picked. Then you can hang every one you're on and ruin the prosecution and give more time for the defendant to prove innocence.

So many rape cases have collapsed in the UK lately because the police haven't investigated properly because of the mandate to believe all accusers. The government actually had to step in and tell them to be more neutral because of the bad publicity it was receiving. Their answer to this guy is fucked up. We live in an innocent until proven guilty judicial system meaning that the moment his conviction was quashed he is legally innocent unless they convict him otherwise. Their reasoning is bullshit and he will win if he pursues this further.
