It’s a status thing. No different than flaunting any other shiny object. I can’t stand the number of over-the-top-never-seen-a-day-off-road trucks driven around by idiots with soft hands. Doesn’t matter who’s driving them. Too many people trying to compensate for some shortcoming in their lives.

Where I’m at in the south right now the biggest craze is lifting trucks/jeeps and putting black wheels with huge mud tires on it. I work as an auto tech and 90% of the time when a Jeep comes in like that a chick gets out. 90% of he dudes that drive trucks have that setup too. I understand the small penis thing with guys but the fact girls are doing it is just envy imo. No reason to have that vehicle except to say look at me I can be retarded too!

Some want to see over traffic because they’re really short. Others think they just look nice. I knew a few who said trucks and jeeps are beautiful. Others like how it makes them feel- I suppose like Lara Croft or something. I think you’re reading too much into this (comments too). People like a specific type of car, they buy it. Some aspects of life are as simple as that. We don’t ask each other what our ‘agenda’ is when driving a specific car. There is no agenda. We drive it ‘cause we like our car. Imagine someone hating on you for driving your favourite car lol.

Have you noticed no matter how high the price of gasoline or diesel gets, women will start the vehicle, adjust the mirrors (Even though they were the last ones to drive it), plug in their phone, buckle their seat belt, look in the mirror at themselves, turn on and adjust the radio, check their phone, look in the mirror again at themselves, all before putting the vehicle in gear?

Every petite female I've ever known feels the need to drive the biggest vehicle she can find. Compensating for their small stature by bullying the world around with their 2 tons of rolling steel. That alone wouldn't be the end of the world but they all also take the position that since they're the bigger car it's now the world's job to get out of her way or get squished so they drive like utter morons or hyper-aggressive shitheels.

In Europe, construction workers and other trades use vans much more than trucks because they are more practical. Vans are not status vehicles the way trucks are, so no women drive vans for their personal vehicles. So my guess is that women in trucks is a status thing, where the status being advertised is "I am/was hot enough for a man to buy me this big truck".

I wondered the same. The dudes in the massive trucks are funny especially when they’re short and need a step ladder to get in. Personally I use my truck almost exclusively for work and moving shut around to help people, otherwise I use my car.

Well, I know, AWALT but....

I drive a big, old Chevy Silverado. It has 250,xxx miles and it was formerly owned by my grandfather in law. My husband wanted it after he passed. It's not pretty or fancy or new.

The truck is very valuable to my family from a sentimental standpoint, so I drive it to and from work every day. The relatively short distance is enough to keep it moving, but not too much to run it into the ground. Also, it's still cool out when I leave for work, so I'm not bothered by the lack of ac, whereas it wouldn't be comfortable for him during the day in Florida.

This is why I, a woman, drive a truck.
