Buy and hold, buy and hold.

Don't go into markets that can be manipulated easily like penny stocks, certain crypto currencies, and so on. Don't try to pick sinlge stocks yourself. If you do, you probably won't beat the market.

Don't listen to people that say to wait for the next crash, you can't time it. It might come next year or in 10 years. You miss out on more performance if you wait. Time in the market is better than timing the market.

Also start/keep reading. And don't buy or book any of these seminars or guru workshops.

It's that simple.

If you have not joined the investing group, I would start there. Then I would open a Vanguard account, then fund that Vanguard account. Do some research on some good UK ETFs that Vanguard offers. Then buy those ETFs, and keep buying them until you retire.

The main thing to do is that, if you don't know what you are doing, you will be better placed by buying mutual funds or trusting your money to the management of a professional. Don't start buying single stocks on your personal evaluation of them and their potential, because your potential evaluation is probably wrong.

There are two ways of learning investing before you do so or after you have lost your money and you research why. Firstly understand cycles and ratios. Then asset classes, equities, bonds and real estate/gold/things. Each class goes through a life cycle, it starts off at a low value and rises faster and faster as everyone jumps on the bandwagon then it busts. Know the average length of cycle for each class the average high and low for each class and then calculate where you are on each cycle. I believe we are at the end of the cycle for bonds property and equities but at the start for gold. Bond yields are currently at thousand year highs, equity prices are very high, property very high, where as gold I believe has some way to go.

Listen to the Patriot Radio News Hour. It covers the financial news of the day and cuts through the bullshit. It is done by a gold and silver dealer but he does a great job covering the financial markets. I’ve been listening to him for almost 10 years and it’s done wonders for my savings.

It’s only a 45 min podcast, Monday thru Friday, and it’s easy to listen too. You can find it on iTunes under the name above or a link is on their website - allamericangold.com The news program has been running for around 25 years. The guy knows his markets.

Look over some of the other resources offered in this thread too - there’s some good info there as well. This podcast can really help you cut through the mainstream BS tho and understand what’s really going on through all the fake news out there.

It is US centered but he talked about the EU and the markets are pretty global these days anyhow
