Is the “sex economy” something that should be regulated?

This topic comes up a lot and to me it can be summed up with answering whether you believe people are entitled to sex. I think people are entitled to their belongings, so we should regulate how people interact with belongings that aren't theirs; for instance, if you own a phone, the state should have the right to prevent others from taking it without your consent, and punish people who steal it. So this is an example of something that should be regulated.

Now, if you believe that people are entitled to sex, then it would logically follow that it should be regulated, perhaps in that people should be forced to have sex (or not have sex) with certain people. I'd wager 99% of people here do not believe that people are entitled to sex, so no, they don't want sex to be regulated.

If one wants to solve their sexlessness it's up to the themselves to make themselves seem more desirable to others; intervening in other people's liberty is where the line crosses into unethical.

I think a huge step towards “regulating” it is actually by deregulation. If prostitution, escorts, etc were legal, many of these problems would go away. Of course it can be argued that it would open a whole new set of problems...but in general I lean towards freedom often being the better course.

I'm myself a libertarian. I think sex should be more free than economy also, so I think SMP should be free while the parties implied consent the relationship. Nobody should force to cut a relationship between two consenting persons.

A bit off-topic, I think what incels propose about "state-issued girlfriends" it's socialism or communism applied to sex and relationships. The state shouldn't own people, people should own themselves

Well, see - being a whore has gone mainstream.

But being using prostitute/escorts isn't mainstream yet.

Once people accept it as equivalent of marriage and girlfri boyfriend setup, everyone will be okay.

My friend has so far took out 10 women on date to good restaurant and wasted good chunk of his salary without getting laid!

He's gonna giveup, there should be guaranteed sex for efforts to such guys when so many other guys get it for free.

How does he make money? He's a lineman I know him since he was my neighbor but he no longer is as I got successful and he wasn't so lucky.

Since there is a zero percent chance of either of those things happening, then by definition it’s not a problem as there is no solution.

It is regulated. We have laws. Non consexual sex gets you a jail cell.

Women are helped economically and in the job marketplace so they don't need to consider resources as much when selecting a partner. Divorce laws allow a woman to leave her sexual partner and get resources.

It is already regulated. The question is how regulated it should be and which regulations should be in place.
