Early 30s here, and I can tell you it doesn't get better. Most of my friends have gotten married, gone to other cities/countries, become workaholics with no time left for anything else, or a combination of all three.

I've started going to Reddit meetups, but its just not the same. They're people who are just there for the event itsself and don't actually give a shit about everyone else. As soon as we walk out the door we're back to strangers on the street again.

I’m way too poor to really relate to the specifics of your post, but in general, I get you. I’m also quite lonely because all of my friends are far away or abandoned me. There’s nobody around that I jive with.

It gets worse as you get older.College is your last chance to make friends in any realistic way. |Unless you become an alcoholic. that breaks down inhibitions at parties and bonds are formed much more easily.If you're sober though and hate being around parties... ya pretty much fucked.

Unless you happen to have a fantastic personality and are a very social person. Then you can go to meet ups or events and make friends. If you aren't social and don't have an amazing personality or ability to act, well... screwed again.

Most of my friends want to get married and have family. Didn't matter if I tried to red pill them.

I don't have friends but I only have one for 15 years. Friends sometimes can be a waste of time.

This caught my attention - I feel the same way. Part of it is definitely the area (my city has been ranked worst for people over 40 to meet people). I probably couldn't find someone to grab a beer with if it meant my life (unless it was a total stranger going for free beer). Most of my old friends got married & might as well have died. Nearly all of the younger (25+) guys I know play the same games as women. NO THANKS.

Finding your place is important. Travel to places that fit your interests, stay in non-tourist areas and see how people live. I've found most of the US to be the same - low education, herd animal types. The coasts seem a little better, although a very high cost of living.

That is a hard one Neo. Most people are still in the Matrix and not ready to be unplugged. They are so inert, so dependent on the system. There are not many of our kind out there...

Why don't you try it here or similar forums, meetup.com? Post roughly where you are and what kind of people you are looking for. If you were near me I would join you. So whenever you are in Portugal shoot me a message :-)

I can relate, in College i know two groups of people, the one side goes out to every week at least 2,3 times a week, other days they sit together and drink the same amount always drunk, the other half are gamers and pot heads. But when it comes to uni stuff, everyone studies alone and goes at their own pace. I always thought friends help eachother and push themselves through hard stuff in life, even when you are in college, learn groups etc.. But i only keep meeting people who are only there if it's party or chill time. And then i am the asshole because i want to get my life back on track for not going out anymore and quitting weed.
