Basically you can almost htink of them as gamblers, when they have their maximum beauty / fortune they want to use it to gamble and experience as many men and " adventures" as possible.

Women between 18 and 30 want to "enjoy life" by traveling, meeting new people and having intimate relations with however many men they can get. The "settling down" notion is for when their sexual market value starts to decline. It's now that they will tell you that they're interested in starting a family and having kids, biological clock being what it is and all.

Let's be clear though, if they had the choice to keep "enjoying life" forever, let's say they're sexual market value never deteriorated, then they'd never choose to "settle down" and have a family with some dude that will be a provider.

Secondly, men don't really reach their sexual market value until they've worked and achieved a least some "success." So that's usually around 25-35, sometimes 40.

So what women are doing is basically saying that they want to "enjoy life" when they're young, but want the men their age to give up on "enjoying life" when they're in their prime. Men their age should not "settle down" and have families. They should enjoy what they've earned, date younger women if they want to, and focus on their own wants and needs. Even the beta provider types, they should travel the world and sate their own needs and desires and not submit to a woman's priorities just because she's now paying attention to him. He should go have his own fun and "enjoy life."

I think it's more of a lack rather than a Fixation. It could be both. See, the women are like leaky buckets which have holes in them(quite literally). It doesn't matter how much attention, validation, love, friendship you put inside, it will never fill up.

And this "lack" ultimately leads to extreme indulgence to compensate, to forget the fact they will never be whole as an individual because it's by nature so. They do it because they can. In earlier times, there were severe social penalties for women who did anything but toe the line on traditional gender roles. Now not only are these social penalties gone, but "enjoying life" is now actively promoted and celebrated by mainstream culture in the western world. Where women have the license to do as they please, they do. Women would have done so in earlier times if they could have done so without suffering the social penalties. Women in other parts of the world would do so right now if the social penalties are removed (and they are being dismantled as we speak).

Because the thirst is real, women can behave badly, sometimes spectacularly so, and most will still find men to marry and support them. There will be a growing minority of women who followed this life plan and later regret it, but for the time being this minority will be so small that it will not affect mainstream culture (i.e., the messaging that encourages destructive and self-destructive behavior will not change).
