And for the life of me I’m not sure why women who draw a crowd the size of a pop warner football game think they should get paid millions. When sponsors pay millions then they can talk about their contacts. You have to be some kind of stupid to expect huge money when there is none. And I expect a $100,000 a game when I play at the local ymca...

But secondly - sure, I wanted them to win bc I knew they'd do some stupid shit (and they did), and the media would blow up the whole pay issue (which they did). I overheard the conversation that group leader asked them "have any of you watched the women's world cup?"

One of them said "women's sport are boring", another "watching paint dry was better" - this sums up what people thought of it.

Just biology. We ban steroid use in sports for good reason, but even the weakest soyboy you know is practically swimming in testosterone compared to the strongest women out there. It is hard for a man to not outperform a woman in most physical contests.

You'll note that in reality shows like survivor where they put men up against women in physical challenges they design them to minimize any advantage men have, such as focusing more on things like balance or supporting your own weight, or with team events balancing the number of men/women on both teams. There simply is no way to have an interesting match-up otherwise.

I have nothing against having women's sports leagues. If people want to compete, great. If people want to pay to watch, great. But it is silly to complain that people aren't lining up to pay the same to watch a professional women's team that couldn't beat the local high school team where the tickets cost $3 and soda sells for a dollar.

I don't even mind diverting SOME money from the pro leagues to amateur leagues in the interest of driving up general interest, and getting more kids involved/etc. That is just making an investment in the future, and there is no reason some of those amateur leagues couldn't be non-competitive or feature women. It doesn't make sense to pay people to participate in these, however, and they should be appreciated as the charity that they are, even if it helps the pro league in the long term.
