Unless you want to stretch the metaphor and talk about "Nation of Red Pill", it's not a country but a community.

Some like the term "praxis", which I can live with because TRP is more about doing rather than navel gazing; it's pragmatic.

However, the power of TRP does not come from the scientific method. Let's not flatter ourselves: we don't have the resources or time to pass any sort of "peer review".

This is not to say that guys will not use critical thinking skills but very few would/could/can/will run a controlled experiment. . .properly.

The mods and ECs have certain insights, but largely it is the other 200,000+ who are experiencing things and processing information and seeing what is what, and then it gets sorted out.

Folk Wisdom can be surprisingly accurate. Drink ginger ale if you are nauseated; have chicken soup if you get a cold: science has later proven these.

However, it can be hit or miss. I had a pinched C6 nerve that caused mayhem (almost literally) across my back, shoulder and arm. I live in China and my people took me to a TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) hospital. Accupuncture and cupping were useless. All that worked was massage, and TIME and some - very western - drugs to kill the pain while my body sorted itself out.

Additionally, TRP is not philosophy. It has a philosophy but it is not a philosophy: it is a praxis or folk wisdom.

Anyone coming here has to accept the fallibility of even the best advice. That is the nature of folk wisdom.

There are old goats like me who have 30+ years of dealing with women; and you have perhaps younger, perhaps more thoughtful ECs who see something you and I missed. And we even have teenagers and twenty-somethings who have one or more things figured out through experience.
