Her troops surrendered and then the city was still destroyed, if anything only proves that she was right, and that no matter what she was gonna die. And saying that she is dumb because didn’t do the right thing by leading the country to better place and not betraying people doesn’t make any sense. She wasn’t gonna do the right thing when given the opportunity. That is why she’s the villain. Her action can be explained by her character by the things that happened to her and she chose to be evil. That doesn’t make her stupid or her actions stupid. The only thing that was stupid was killing Melissandre. That was fucking dumb. And her evil choices all had consequences. All her children died because she did not care for them correctly. She had to do the walk of shame because of her sins and her incorrect assumption she could manipulate the church, which she was punished for. Being wrong doesn’t make someone stupid, just means they made a poor decision.

But remember it you said it wasn’t cersei who surrender bud? Her troops surrender because they were being absolutely destroyed and there was literally nothing they could do. Not surrendering would be stupid at that point. Cersei never surrender because she thought she was doomed. And let’s be clear her goals were never to lead and that’s not why she wanted her children on the throne. Cersei thought that power and power alone could protect you and save her family. And she was wrong. And also if you wanna say that the people she went up against were smarter and that’s why she lost but none of their plans actually worked against her. They wanted peace and they actually believed that Cersei also wanted peace. She lost due to the fact that the other side had dragons. She was not outsmarted, she was fucking nuked.

So Cersei is dumb for not surrendering but the army is also stupid for surrendering? And she didn’t hate Tyrion cause he tried to reel in Joffrey, she hated him because his birth killed their mother and from her perspective comes this deformed baby. And she killed Margery and her family because Margery is her foil. Cersei saw Margery manipulating her son into loving him just as Cersei manipulates the people around her but through fear vs love. She loves her children even if she doesn’t always do what’s best for them. One of the biggest about points of her character, to do selfish things and hurt the people around her because she is a broken angry bitter person. Her actions drove her son to suicide, because the child was not made for the life of King and any pressure and

She is egotistical and thinks she knows what’s best, but she was not out smarted in the end. The only one to outsmart her was Olenna by poisoning her son and having an extremely good plan for a decoy. Tyrion the hand of the king who throughout the whole series had butted heads with every member of his family. And it was his doing sending her daughter away. Then Tyrion Joffrey, bride who was tortured by both Cersei and Joffrey disappears. You couldn’t find a better scapegoat. But even that was not what killed Cersei. She outlived Olenna even though Olennas plan was brilliant. Other than that one instance, the other character did not outsmart Cersei. And her father did reign her in but was killed by who would’ve guessed it Tyrion. Almost all of her actions were justified or at least made sense in the context of the story.
