#metoo highlights the real problem with sexual assaults, but not in the way they attended.

The #metoo thing just highlights the victim complex most women have, that's all. Women know very well that they can play the victim to get validation and attention, so they do.

The downside to all this, is as you stated, no man takes rape claims from anyone but the more extreme cases seriously. Honestly, I no longer know a single man that believes any woman who says she was raped. But the men that worship at the alter of feminism do and sadly they greatly out number us.

Almost every Metoo story I have seen can be broke down like this:

roughly 5- 10 years ago, usually in or directly after high school a woman discovered she can use sexuality to get guys to do things. Eventually she tries to turn this new found power into a way to gain social status. So she tries to manipulate the popular guys with sex. But unlike her beta male friends that this works on to get homework done. Chad will just pump and dump you leaving you with a stretched vag and empty promises of social status gain. Chad can do this because he probably has 3 - 5 other girls trying the exact same shit and he is playing them all. Then there is usually some made up, emotion inducing ending about how she was publicly mocked by the whole school about being a slut.

Pretty much #metoo = "I tried to play the game and got played by a better player, feel sorry for me."

The lesson men need to take from this whole trend the importance of handling a woman's emotions directly after your first sexual experience with her. Do everything in your power to have hard evidence that it was consensual, but it shouldn't be required everytime. Directly after sex is probably the one time you as a man really need to follow her lead on how to direct the situation.

In the rare case she can actually be casual about sex, your on easy street. Just don't make her feel like a used whore and all is well. But for as much as women shout from the roof tops about how "they can just bang like men!" they can't. Most of the women you sleep with when you actually get out there and meet them will want to bond after sex. Doesn't matter if during the whole act you treated her like a backdoor slut, she is going to want that connection with you afterwards. The cold shoulder that many "player types" seem to adopt now is the cause of all this regret=rape bullshit. If your desire to even speak or look at her drops to zero the minute you blow your load, and you show that to her, your in for some rough waters.

Unfortunately this is the type of men that are glamorized and held as symbols of masculinity in society. But all those cold, calculating, hard men always have a soft spot for 1 woman in those fantasies. Behind closed doors that killer has a kind warm soul that only the woman can find. That is the part of the fantasy men are currently not giving women. Women need this as it feeds their need to be desired by/special to a powerful man. When they don't get that they feel cheated, when women feel cheated they look to society to solve their problems, hence regret=rape charges booming.

The biggest reason behind why the term sexual assault has been broadened to mean even just looking at a woman for too long is because women viewing men as beneath them. When men continually bend over backwards for women and fail the feminist society wide shit tests, they view men as more beta then ever. Since women are programmed to never let beta males touch/fuck them for evolutionary purposes, and since they are viewing more and more men or anything masculine as beta, you can start to see why the term 'sexual assault' is being broadened.

A beta male staring at a girl or encroaching on her private space is viewed as repugnant and can make a girl physically disgusted. If women had respect for men, had fathers that knew how to set boundaries, were surrounded by men who knew how to act right and not fail these macro level shit tests, they wouldn't be broadening these terms.

They're broadening these terms simply due to the fact that more and more men are failing these society wide shit tests.

Women should have the freedom to talk about what they want just like I have the freedom not to pay any attention. I already know the difference between a real no and a fake no. Based on what I’m reading on Twitter it seems some girls weren’t taught that. If a guy is trying to grope you and you don’t like it tell him if he touches you again you’ll fucking murder him in his sleep. You are echoing my thoughts exactly. Like you, I know many sexual assult victims. I've dated quite a few and I even took a class in college on rape culture and rape victims, where I met literally dozens and heard their stories.

Despite popular belief around here, all the victims had genuine stories that fit the classic definition. Physical force and drugs. None of this regret or drunk bullshit. None of these women posted me too. A few even left social media while it happened. hell, there was even a post on Reddit about how so many victims got triggered by it.

Combining the terms is extremely dangerous and makes real sexual assult less powerful. It's honestly really maddening.

The only thing MeToo was good for was to show what women act like 5 year olds who say me too when the adults say something they have no comprehension of.

"Sexual assult? Me too me too me too! This one time this guy at a bar tired to hit on me well after I told him no. I felt to threatened!"

Dilution is the exact right word for it. Sexual assault isn't sexual harassment and sexual harassment isn't 'A guy I don't like talked to me'.

I do think you go a step too far in your second to last paragraph:

There is certainly a fetishization of victimhood that is now en vogue, as you say. But far, far too often the terms 'victim culture' and 'attention seeking' get used to invalidate people bringing real shit to light.

In a way, that's your exact point: that legitiamte issues get drowned out by attention seeking. My point is that the confusion is coming from 'attention seekers' AND so called 'shitlords' hell bent on their own brand of identity politics.

as a fellow white man i would like to point out the fact that not enough of these sexual assaults are perpetrated by black men.
