Living alone or being alone requires a certain level of introverted personality. Not only does one need to be a bit introverted, you have to value alone time and invest in hobbies and interests that make you happy. This is the exact opposite of most people. Many merely follow what is popular or what their friends are doing. Many would rather be around people they hate then be alone. This is when living alone is not for you.

I live alone and love it.

I just can’t stand having someone in my personal space for too long. Even when the last gf would come over for a weekend every 4 weeks; I could not wait until she left.

I’m out of my house more than I’m in it. I have friends, work and social activities.

There is truly a difference between being alone and being lonely.
