They think that having a career will make them more desirable, because thats what they look for in a man.

Men are no better, the reason men white knight and become fedorable nice guys is because they are projecting what they want from a woman and think this will make them more appealing.

I disagree. A woman with a degree in something useful (STEM, medicine) or interesting (history) is preferable to a semi-literate retail clerk. That kind of education speaks to the ability to have interesting conversation, and to the ability to plan ahead long-term, or at least to suffer through adversity.

Such a woman is also a unicorn, though, given how many women get useless degrees. Which is why I go my own way. The work of finding a woman with the brains of Marie Curie-Sklodowska, the ambition of Gwynne Shotwell, and the body of Kate Upton is, IMO, unlikely to pay off, and I’m happy enough on my own that I feel no need to settle just to conform to bullshit societal expectations. Heck, even getting 2/3 of those is incredibly unlikely.

Also remember dysgenics. Any kids you may have will have half her genes. Think through the implications of that, and then tell me whether one should risk bringing more semi-literate waitresses into the world.

Finally, consider that a woman who can only bring her looks to the table is used to coasting on them, and has probably employed them on other men.

Well, maybe I am weird, but an intelligent, educated (but not a postmodernist) woman is attractive to me. I like the idea of intellectual conversation and equality. But, since that's not really doable, and since every such woman I have met is bitchy, entitled, disloyal, and hypergamous to the max, it's kind of a red flag. I'm not intimidated, I'm turned off.
