When I was 19 I dated a girl who had depression. I spent many nights comforting her, stayed in the hospital with her when she slit her wrists one evening, took her to therapy and supported her when she told her parents what she was going through. Gradually she was getting better, but it was taking its toll on me and wearing me down.

One night I decided to tell her how I'd been feeling, expecting similar support, I opened up and told her that I was struggling and not coping too well.

Her response: "Get over it"

She broke up with me days later... something about doesn't feel the same way about me anymore.

I was shattered and to make the situation even more difficult... within weeks she was banging a guy who lived 4 houses down from me. Every fucking time I left or came home her car would be parked there and they'd be hanging out on the verandah.

I wish I knew of the red pill at 19. You young lads don't know how lucky you are these days.

TLDR: basically i agree with op post. Just a story of mine.

I dont know how i was browsing random stuff on th inernet a long time ago (8-10 years ago) i was in school.

It was a blog about mgtow of course i did not know that back then nor did the blog call it itself that way.

Anyhow, the author had many articles containing "red pill truths". The one i remember most and that struck me the most is exactly this.

Men can never open to women and show their feelings, in fact they cant show any sign of weakn ess as the man must always be the leader of the relationship for the woman mimics all he does.

The man is in a constant "fight" to keep the woman and show her he is a better catch than the other men or something along these lines.

He can never confide in the women for its a sign of weakness to her, so there can be no soul mates. A man can only confide in another man, actual friends as woman are repulsed by loyalty, trust and honesty apparently. Just takes a quick look at women friendships to notice.

Now, of course young me thought thats silly you got in a relationshiop with this woman you should totally open up and get to know everything there is about each other.

Then, as i hadnt completely dismiss what the blog was saying it kept bugging me for a few days, so i started analyzing bit by bit most relationship i knew of at the time being a 13-14 yo guy, namely my parents, relatives, some older friends and so on.

They were mostly the same. Which was quite shocking how could i miss that, its obvious.

Most of the women married to these men were constantly being a pain in the ass to them, constantly trying to belittle their husbands at every chance they got, nagging of course, spending most of the money, blaming the man for anything.

Sometimes some of these men snapped a bit and before reading the blog i thought they were slightly aggressive and a bit, for lack of a better term, abusive (dislike this word but eh renders the idea). After acknowledging the previously mentioned signs its only natural these dudes did so, one can only take it for so long.

Their wifes shortly put constantly fucked with their heads and were being manipulative and alwats painted themselves as the victims even tho they caused the problem in the first place.

They always strip the man they married of anything. His physical goods, wealth, emotional stability, mental stability,basically the "fun stuff" they probably married him for. Whats left is an unhappy, emotionless zombie slave.

My old one after a certain point was completely ignoring my mother you could see he was broken inside, while she was constantly talking shit about him to her kids while dad was at work. Disgusting, tho my sister bought it so she started mimicing her mother.

What can i say, i wish i wouldve saved that blog. That dude totally changed my perspective about relationships and women. Its not too hard reading them now and understanding what they do and why. At least most of the time.

Brene Brown's The Power of Vulnerability is such a crock of shit and it's one of the most watched Ted Talk video. If it is true it only applies to woman and not men. Women don't like weak vulnerable men. They leave weak vulnerable men and find strong emotionally detached men. I could see why women resonate with her message. Women know that they increase their power when they have other people's secrets and vulnerabilities. Her research is so biased and she went into it finding what she wanted to believe. It fit her world view so it must be true.

Edit: I also want to add that she's trying to redefine vulnerability as strength. In theory that sounds all great, nice, fluffy, and liberal. In actuality it doesn't work, especially not with men. Definitely not with men as we all know!

Vulnerability is weakness. Saying it isn't doesn't change the reality. It's like redefining fat as beautiful, or all body types are beautiful.

Women love the message that their weaknesses are now strengths. If they feel afraid that's strength. If they feel lonely that's strength. If they experienced hurt that's strength. If they feel anything it's strength because having feelings is strength. Well fuck all that bullshit! You can clearly see how feminism is underlying her ideas. It's packaged into her talks in a way that's palatable to all the women who listen.

I can no longer comment on most subs because my user profile is in MGTOW, and they might get rid of this sub just because someone, somewhere, has a stick up their ass about this community.

Yeah, men communicate differently, show their anger, speak in vulgar terms and so forth. It doesn't mean they're wrong in what they're saying. Society has shut off every communication path for men. Quiet stoicism is the expectation and for the most part we all adhere to it. Men showing emotion in the media are still anathema to women and society at large. Society NEVER wants to see men with problems or even admit that men have problems. MGTOW understands and accepts that, and has adopted a prescription for life to deal with that fact. But society doesn't like that either. WTF?

And once we start comparing notes on a sub, people get scared and want us shut down. What does that say about what's really going on in society today?

I hope this sub keeps going but I'm not holding my breath.

Any weakness at all will do it. I was bedridden with pneumonia and not only did it kill the attraction, she absolutely loathed and resented the fact that I dared asked her to go to the grocery store to get soup and 7-up for me (I was paying too). "REALLY? Why does it have to be me? Why can't your brother or mom get it???"

Lying there in bed gave me a loooot of time to think about the situation haha.

When a woman want you to "open up" it means emotionally. She want to see you be emotional towards her, not hear about your insecurities and fear. Do NOT show weakness.
