I've been going solo and sober (not drunk) to concerts and events. The real talk I overhear is appalling.

Last night after a concert, I duck into a cocktail bar to wait-out the traffic rush. A couple attractive women were there next to me. I had spoke with them briefly about the concert, and they seemed nice enough. But then I overhear this gem as one woman consoles the other about a guy: "Just use the psychological warfare tactics we talked about..." I'm out.

Closer to home, I stop by my local pub. A chill band is playing, but it's mostly dead. I say hi to a few regulars, and post up near the band. This woman in a little black dress sits alone, right in front of me, and is obviously into the band. I walk up next to her, and say hi. She says, "Are you going to buy me a Cosmo?". I laugh, and say, "I saw you here, and thought I'd give you some company". Conversation continued, but she was arrogant, rude, and mean. I tell her that she's not very nice, and I start walking away. She death-grips my arm and says, "I'm nice as fuck! You don't even know!" I look at her grip on my arm, then look at her, and she let's go. I'm out.

I also had women bump into me a couple times throughout the night and say things like, "you're okay", and "excuse you". Classy.

Despite all this, I had a lot of fun. Especially when I saw men tending to thier women who were crying or angry.

I also stayed off my phone and concentrated on being present in the moment, and open.
