So my father, whom I admire and respect more than anyone else in this world, has recently been into the "MGTOW" - I don't know what to call it, ideology? And I want to understand it better but all I've seen online seems to be an extremely negative view of women, and my dad would never think like that.

My dad does think it's completely inappropriate to have the idea that women can do no wrong and to use sex to manipulate men, but I think everyone can agree on those ideas. He also basically says that if you want a good man, you (meaning women) have to make yourself into the kind of woman that a good man wants. His ideas are all somewhere along that line, and it seems totally reasonable to me, especially considering the fact that he had a horrible divorce from my mother, who absolutely screwed him over financially and emotionally.

But the stuff I see online, quotes from the MGTOW men, seem to have a lot of hatred towards women. - saying that we're all basically shallow and our power is held only in her vaginas, etc, and I don't agree with that at all.

Can anyone give me some examples of what MGTOW means to you? Is it more of the former, or do you generally have bad feelings towards women?

(Side note: I consider myself a feminist to a degree - I believe in equality of course, equal pay, equal jail time for equal crimes etc. But I respect men, and I think women who constantly say "men are trash" are just making themselves look bad. Women do not exist to serve men, but a good relationship can make each person better.)
