I had reason to cry when my younger sister started dating one of my homeys. That's how he vanished from my life.
[β]ElectricPatriot126 points127 points128 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
He violated a bro code. Never date a friend's sister.
[β]hellabad51 points52 points53 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Outside of being fucked up, the main reason to never date your friend's sister is because of what happens after the relationship is over. You put the bro in the awkward position of picking between you or his own sister. You won't be welcome over anymore if they live together, family events are also fucked.
[β]davisyoung28 points29 points30 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Its all about the boundaries. Coworkers, neighbors, that cute waitress at your favorite restaurant. One should think about the consequences when things go tits up.
[β]GrisBosque9 points10 points11 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You can date them.... but its about establishing realities...
first comes those of best and most benefit....
Everyone else get in line down from these guys...

That's bro. I feel it.
[β]Regencyflw22 points23 points24 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Yeaaaaaa that guy wasnβt your homey if he wanted to fuck your little sister. That shitβs disrespectful. He couldβve found another girl to simp with. You lost nothing.
[β]pnwhomebrewer7 points8 points9 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Agree plus itβs just weird. Itβs like fucking your best friend if he was a girl.
[β]schemadrome-1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
such friends are often called "girlfriends". but i think i know what you mean.
[β]schemadrome0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
He wasn't into my sister at first, because he did not know her. In terms of respect, I would have sold my younger siblings into black slavery just to get rid of those deadbeat freeloaders.
[β]NewHum2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Thatβs totally against the bro code and generally fucked up. You donβt date people inside your friend circle so you never put them in a situation of having to choose between people when the relationship is over.
Your friend is a dick!
Thank you

I did not know that, but back then I thought that it would not be my style.
[β]NewHum0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Well it makes sense thoe. The whole bro code joke just mean that your friends shouldnβt put you in situations where life cut be difficult for you as a result of their actions.
Thatβs why you donβt date your friends sister, you donβt talk badly about your bros and you donβt make thinks awkward for them.

After Greg was divorced by Karen and she took their 2 kids, Greg couldent pay child support so Greg went into hiding, and left his children money in his will when they become independent. Fuck Karen.

That's the truth man. I have lost every single one of my friends to them getting married.
I don't mind being single, but I wish I had more single friends. That's almost impossible to find them in your 30's.
[β]ArtDeve19 points20 points21 points 7 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Once their wives hit their midlife crisis (30s for women) your buddies will be back, needing to sleep on the couch, and in desperate need of support. Show them what they have been missing!
[β]FaAlt11 points12 points13 points 7 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Not quite. One that got married 10 years ago just got divorced almost two years ago (I found out at my last friend's wedding). He was pretty devastated, had to sell his house and moved back in with his parents. I told him we should catch up some time, but we never did. I checked his facebook a few months later and he was dating another girl. Haven't heard from either friend since. I used to have a lot of friends, now I have zero because they all got married.
[β]ArtDeve1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Well, its too bad you couldn't be there to intervene when he was jumping between women. Make new friends. The old ones may (or may not) be back.
[β]FaAlt1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
It's really difficult to make friends in your 30's. At least where I live it's near impossible if you are single and aren't into doing drugs or getting drunk. In my city it seems people are either married and have kids by their thirties or they really don't have their shit together and they are drifting around bouncing from relationship to relationship.
[β]WanderlustYouth1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
THIS, many think that once old friends get divorced it'll be like the old times NOPE. Because they've become so dependent of relying on another person they desperately search for the next woman as if being in a relationship was their life line. Reminds me of my stupid uncle who after being divorced again married a single mother of 3, within 6 months...
[β]FaAlt1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
desperately search for the next woman as if being in a relationship was their life line.
Yep, I had the newly divorced one tell me he thought living alone sounded like a waste of a life and he didn't know what he'd do with himself if he wasn't in a relationship. At that point there isn't enough common ground to sustain a friendship.
For what it's worth, I have an uncle that was married once, but has lived pretty much his whole life alone. He's rather eccentric, has a house that's almost entirely off the grid and a seems to prefer isolation. I rarely see him as he lives out in the middle of nowhere, but I really like the guy, and the older I get the more I can identify with him.
[β]WanderlustYouth0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I pretty much pan to have a life similar to you uncle's, minus the married once part. But honestly I just don't understand how some men could this addicted to pussy, its like they have no self preservation instinct when pussy is around...
[β]NeverNeverLandIsNow5 points6 points7 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Try doing it in your 50's.
[β]FaAlt0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Any luck. Or are we destined to spend our lives in isolation?
I wish there was more discussions of the practicalities of living alone in this sub rather than memes lashing out in frustration with the opposite sex.
[β]NeverNeverLandIsNow0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah I have found some luck but it takes some work, I joined a meetup for older motorcycle riders and looking to join a Bushcraft group this spring.

Had a best friend some years ago. We talked about everything and shared everything. Full trust. He was almost 10 years older than me, in his early 30's. He wanted to marry and build a family, and eventually got himself a girlfriend. Up until this point everything was fine, then he married... Long story short, he's completely out of my life now. No contact, nothing...
I lost a friend, too. A best friend.

Looking back, this is what I shouldβve said at my brotherβs wedding, about 13 years ago. The guy has never been the same since.
He used to be βthe man,β the life of the party, always went out and had a few beers with me and the boys.
Then he married some uppity cunt and has two tiny dogs, and turned into a pussy that never goes anywhere and is only concerned with his and hers home improvement projects, and keeping the house looking like a mausoleum.
He basically stopped caring or calling. Now I only see him at family parties, and thereβs really nothing ever to talk about.
Rest In Peace to my brother. Although still on Earth, heβs a completely different guy. Basically a stranger to me.
