Looking at CDC obesity rates the UK (and Australia) aren't far behind us... You probably just don't live in a low income/chav area.

You're not wrong though, it's a nightmare here. A 30 year old who isn't goddamn enormous is so rare that even women who would have previously been generously described as "chunky" look almost acceptable by comparison.

I lived in Canada my whole life and now the US for two years. Fast food is way too cheap. You can get dinner at Mcdonalds for $3 or make it yourself for $8. Combine that with the 'body positive','love the skin in your in','sexy at any size' movements and you've got a perfect storm of jiggliness.. oh the jiggliness :)
