Don't invest money you can't afford to lose. Everyone always thinks about the profit they're gonna make but statistically more than half people lose money on stocks. It's a good idea to do what you want to do but treat it as passive extra income that may or may not happen.

Dont invest what you cant afford to lose.

I would personally go for stable growth over rollercoaster stocks.

I did invest a bit in stocks for a while but I didn't make anything significantly ( to much effort for a few hundred), my advice is not to be carried away in taking to much risk to make larger sums of money since you can lose a lot of money really quickly. Only invest what you are willing to lose.

If you don't have enough discipline to calculate annual rate of returns on your stock trading accounts then you're just gambling. You'd be better off just buying index funds.

DO NOT EVER rely on message boards and social media speculations, for example stocktwits.com in your decision making. Do your own due diligence and research a company well before investing in it. And there’s nothing like a company being too big to fail.

Finding good advice on this subject has been impossible for me. Everything Ive found is just 1-2 meaningless sentences on forums or 1000 page books which can be compressed to 200 pages of useful material.

Yes......this is what i do. If a Republican is President, I go with defense contractor stocks. If a Democrat is President, I go with gold/silver.

UK here too. Sign up for an stocks and shares ISA with cavendish online via moneysaving expert which lets you buy ETFs, funds, shares or bonds at £10/trade.

Choose a theme you like e.g Tech or China and sort for 4/5 star rated funds on Morningstar (which ranks funds vs market)

Then set up a standing order for 10% of your salary a month and forget about it. You’ll soon be making returns

Research your available tax shelters and tax obligations first! Practice accounts can deceive you, they don't account for slippage in real trading. Avoid day trading, it's just more stress than its worth and there's almost no chance of coming out ahead of a good buy-and-hold strategy with the occasional rebalancing.

The world economy is in a bubble caused by the Fed's artificially low rates. Invest in gold/silver mining companies. Look up Peter Schiff. Stay out of real estate and the US stock market

LTC, Litecoin. Try it for 6 months. Should double in that time. Coinbase and Coinbase Pro to avoid fees. Limit buy. Watch YouTube videos on it.

Some say it's high risk. I say not in the next six months. If you don't want to, try it with a small amount.

Also look into Index funds.
