Stoicism is a blessing.

It's a very good piece of advice. Words don't have power unless you give them power

Yes it is related, thanks for sharing. Our biology is a bitch sometimes, making us blind to obvious manipulation around us.

I have been like this since years. It drives people mad when i don't care. I have a resting bliss-face. They expect me to get angry, afraid, ashamed or concerned, i don't care.
For all i care, they are just farts in the wind. Doesn't affect my life in any way. We are all going to die one day. The meaning you add to anyone or anything is subjective. GYOW and stop giving a shit about what people think.

I need to learn to apply this, I tend to analyze situations like this a lot, like if someone says something rude to me, or tends to “just not like me” for no reason at all yet always favor others over me or petty shit like that (especially in work/school situations), I need to learn that I shouldn’t care about the opinions of others because most of the time their opinions aren’t valuable in any way. If you think about it most people are there only when they need something or know they can take advantage of a person anyway, so it’s not worth it.

I personally think you can always gather something from others' opinions, since it can give you newfound perspectives and understanding of the world; or, reinforce those you already have, like your immune system producing antigens quickly for a previously encountered infection. As long as you look at things rationally, and with a goal in mind, you can optimize your interactions with others.

Def mgtow, also reminds me of Dune quote
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Can do it for a while and then my internal battery hits 2%.

Totally get this. Introverts have an easier time with this than extroverts, who recharge their batteries from contact with people.

If only feminism would focus in things like this instead of men-hate.......
[–]ThePersianAlchemist0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Feminism can't focus on anything regardless

Moral of the story: fuck bitches!

That’s a good first step. However that’s also the first step to not giving a shit.
A better version is to reply with compassion.

Can speak from experience. I grew up going to remedial school across town. I was always riding the short bus to school. I was always thought of as "retarded" and rode the "retard bus." To me those people had alot more courage then anyone. Despite thier limitations, they were happy. I had a bad case of A.D.D and a particular school I was bused to accomodated me. People's perceptions are always ignorant. I rode a bus with kids in wheel chairs. Had MS, autism, behavior problems and all kinds of conditions I would hope no one ever has to live with. The fact that we classify and label without really understanding is disheartening. I hope no kid has to ever go through this growing up.
It ticks me off. Because the disadvantaged are not at fault for what they may have. For years I was judged. Some didn't and saw the real side of me. Those were some of the best friends I ever had. To those who were awful and ridiculed me, it makes me smile to know that those very people are in jail or never accomplished much. No one will really ever know. Thier loss is what I keep telling myself.
I just learn to drown out them. I shouldn't mind what they say, because they don't matter. Most are miserable fucks anyways.
