The love you feel towards a woman isn't anymore real than a dream, it's all in your head. She isn't special, you just projected your love onto her. You just assume that she was as complex as you are personality-wise. Truth is that women are the same to a large part, they lack any real personality traits, which is good for you, that means that it's a shit ton of hers out there, 3.5 billion of them. The bad news however is that they are the same, so you will get screwed over the same way over and over again until you learn that women are nothing special.

You won't ever "completely forget" your ex, but you can lose the emotions you felt at the time. A very rough rule of thumb is it takes half the time you were together. For LTR (say greater than 5 years), it pretty much reduces to one year: one lap through the calendar, hitting all the holidays/birthdays/etc. This can be mitigated by finding something else/someone else to do.

Think of it this way: a woman is an amusement park. You wait in line, ride the rides. The line waiting is tedious, but the rides are fun. However, it would be incredibly boring, limiting, and irritating to live at an amusement park. So, after a time, you leave. You might have fond memories, but don't think those can be re-produced at the same amusement park. Take a break or find another.

You should be very happy rather than sad,now u have freedom and time .You can live your to the fullest rather then spending on her.If need u can join some activities and sooner u will forget about her.Must is that you should be social in this type of situation.Attend parties,gathering ,meet new people especially enjoying with your friends will help you lot.

You won't care either way in a few months. I remember feeling devastated, like how am I going to function. Then, a few months later I could see her with a dick in her mouth and it wouldn't affect me in any way.

Work on yourself. Write down the benefits of not having her in your life. Place the list by your bedside. Read it morning and night, consistently, and it will sink in.

At the top of the list write : reasons I don't miss her.

If the list is unsatsfyingly short, set a goal and work towards it. Extend that list.

It can, and will sink in through a psychological phenomenon known as "auto-suggestion".

The mind is divided into two parts, the conscious and sub concious. One proven way to change the subconscious mind is to repeatedly put an image or thought into your conscious mind. Eventually, those thoughts will work their way into the subconscious mind, and become your new norm.

Those thoughts will become the way you want to feel.

Will the transition process suck? Well, ya, but compare it to living your life and just getting used to not having her around. It will eventually do the same thing, for the same reasons. You want to direct and focus the change to accelerate it and encourage yourself to move onward and upward good sir.

I was completely destroyed when my ex left me. Really deep depression for a while. That was a little over 4 months ago. I still think about her every day, but it’s more of a murderous rage and strong desire for revenge. I loved her to death, and I will never make that mistake again.

You will never forget, but every day it will sting a tiny bit less. If you ever feel really bad, I’ve been there, time makes it better. Stick it through, and take your red pills every single day if you can.

First the bad news. You’ll never completely forget an ex. Good news is you’ll lose any feelings for them. You’ll remember the good times and the sex but you’ll also remember why she became an ex. Exes will always be there to remind you that you didn’t really need them in the first place. And if all else fails, give it a few years and look at their social media cos they all hit the wall with varying degrees of impact.
