I personally lost ~30kg (66lbs.) using intermittent fasting. Slow and steady, over 3 years. Then I kept with it for 2 years more. The real guru is Martin Burkhan, but that's beside the point.

At any rate, while it's a great tool, there are 2 serious caveats:

I'm really into lifting science, but have seen no hard evidence of any substantial benefit aside from the help in caloric reduction. Martin admits this himself.
It's a great tool to have in your toolbox (I still have no trouble ignoring hunger when I miss meals or just go a busy day at work without the time to eat). But Coach Gregg's method of low-calorie-high-volume food wins by a mile in terms of long-term viability. Just so much more comfortable and somewhere between a bit more to much more anabolic in terms of spreading protein throughout the day.

But like I said, a great tool to have at your disposal.
