Single men already pay the most taxes by far. Single moms on the other hand not only pay zero tax, they get huge refunds. I know single mothers who get $10,000 refunds. This is basically welfare baked into the tax code.

A bachelor tax added to the current tax system would be outrageous.

In the US there is actually a marriage tax in certain situations due to the way the brackets are structured. If both parties work and make roughly the same high income then they pay more filing jointly than single. In most cases however, the person filing single pays more than the one filing married.

If you're single then you're already not allowed very many deductibles. Although the tax laws are changed so I'm not sure how that will differentiate singles and couples.

Oh boy, in Germany there is already a bachelor's tax. Married couples pay way less taxes. If a man earns 5k a month and the women barely any, say none as it's most often the case, then the 5k income gets splitted so the tax rate is calculated for 2.5k income. If the man would be a bachelor with 5k income he would pay a big chunk of taxes more.

Well, our gay brothers fought for the right to have gay marriage recognized, so why not use that? If ever push comes to shove, just sign a paper saying you're married to a male friend. You don't need to "consumate" the marriage, you don't even need to live together since "modern" marriages are not defined by that, you homophobic shitlord. And if you two want to keep on banging chicks, just say you're both bi-curious and in an open polyamorous relationship.

If the State doesn't recognize it, sue them into oblivion. Take to the Supreme Court if needed. Let's see the hypocrisy being brought into the daylight.

That will be one of the final nails in the productivity coffin.there’s already so many things discouraging productive people from working in western countries (affirmative action, high taxes, lack of free speech) but the abundance keeps people here. If you literally charge people for being single, the single productive people will leave and society will collapse

But the law rewarded:

Having more than three children, the woman was heralded and given money.
Having three or more sons by the same man, and the woman was applauded, given special favors, and allowed to own property.

So many men are already in baby jail. With bachelor tax there would be soooo many more men going to jail, it would certainly cause some kind of violent revolt. Prisons would not have enough capacity for it.

I am from India. Being a bachelor in my mid-30s and not wanting to have children is viewed with suspicion (Maybe gay? I am not). I don't care about the opinions of the society, it's my choice the way I am. Happy to spend my time pursuing things I like at a leisurely pace.

The influence of 3rd wave western feminists on Indian women is at an all time high. And given that the law is draconian and sides women, I am quite happy to single. Here's what Indian men have to put up with. .

On the contrary, society has to pay us, for not procreating and not interfering.
