the human language can only capture so much of how we describe people, so yes I do agree that labels are not pinpoint accurate. I'm 31 and super-career focused, working directly with my CEO on a bunch of things. No women at all at the company nor in my activd life. AINT NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT!

Personally (and I'm down to discuss) I think that alpha/beta has little to do with the way you look per say. An alpha could be short or tall, good looking or ugly and vice versa. I think that most of it comes down to your personality and how you carry yourself. Being able to stand up for what you believe in, having resolve, security and decisiveness are traits I would consider of someone who is alpha, among countless others. I know this because I used to be the opposite of these, and as I grew I noticed that I became more "commanding" in a sense in social settings. There are a lot of other things like body language and tonality but you get the point

In the most basic of contexts an alpha is the one most capable of terminating competition, his peers, and subordinates around him through physical means. The one whom others follow. The top of any hierarchy.

Alpha/beta-ness is not absolute, it's a scale, and it's impossible to be on 1 end or the other.
