You can book one he'll of a cabin on most cruise ships for a third of that and you don't need a passport to cruise to Mexico. I use Carnival Cruises.

Can't go wrong visiting Colorado. Every season is great there imo. Shop for cheap airfare and use Airbnb to find reasonable lodging.

You have a pretty nice stretch of national forest through there don’t you ? What about the Newport News and l Virginia beach area?

I do want to make a trip out to Memphis sometime and lout about listening to music and enjoying the food culture springing up there. You could prob make a go of any Of these places for 750-1500 depending on duration.

Go to New Mexico. Lots of good hiking in way different country that VA. Carlsbad cavern, White Sands national monument, the museum of space history in Alamogordo. Inn of the Mountain Gods if you're feeling like spending more money.
