My personal opinion is that -- regardless of all the other rationalizations people contrive -- major amounts of "body art"* are an external expression of an internal form of self-hatred, akin to "cutting", suicide attempts, etc.

* Which is slightly different than some trivial/small "tattoo" that is -- for example -- done as part of some "group identity" (i.e. everyone in a military squad/team gets the same tattoo on bicep etc). I still don't think that is all that smart, but the motivation is unquestionably different.

Each to their own. I find tattoo girls really unattractive, like another poster said.. Bare, unblemished skin is hot. but w/e I'm herbivore. What I find funny is they all seem to get the exact same tattoos, look at that, more skulls and roses. What is it with the skulls and roses and shit? Tattoos are meant to be original, no? Upper middle class and wealthy people don't (usually, except for entertainers and pro athletes) have tattoos. It's overwhelmingly an indicator of low social class. I think maybe a lot of people who get them haven't been around any well educated/high income/high functioning people except their favorite celebrities that they see on TV, so they don't get that.

Tats have never been a thing for me. I haven’t cared too much for them and don’t have any myself.

But that one is well done IMO. I have to wonder how long it took and how much it cost. (I can’t imagine most reputable artists would take payment for that in pussy.)
