Uh, I don't want to cause any trouble here. I came here browsing from the default subs and wanted to see what all the fuss was about, but I'll participate.

How do you win with women? I'd say that if you want to have meaningful relationships with anyone, women or otherwise, you can't frame relationships in the form of a competition. A relationship is doomed the moment it's viewed as something to be won.

How did you finely tune your behavior? I'd argue that I didn't. I was lucky enough to find a woman who likes me as I am. That's not to say we haven't had problems, but she respects the person I am. I'll also add that I'm not super chivalrous. I'm polite and I hold the door open for her and whatnot, but I hold the door open for anyone. I don't think I consider gender as important of a factor in how I treat people. Most of the women I hang around with/consider friends would probably appreciate being treated as just any other person, so I tend not to treat them much differently than I do my male friends.

How do you achieve peace of mind? I'm not really sure how to answer this. At the core, my girlfriend is one of my best friends. I trust my best friends because they've always been there for me. I'm dating this woman because she's always been there for me.

How do we achieve satisfaction? I'm not entirely certain that anyone can be sure that there's not someone else that they could also be with. But that's not something I lose sleep over. Part of being in a relationship is growing over time. There are probably other women I could've built a similar relationship with, but I put my time and energy into this one. It took time and it's gotten better over the years, why would I start over with someone else?

And I don't mean to come off as someone who's saying that everything has been perfect. We've had our ups and downs but in reality any struggles we've had have been far outweighed by the positives. And I'll acknowledge that I've been extremely lucky. I know not everyone else, especially here, has been.

And I'm not going to demonize or feel bad for you or any other member of this sub for "going their own way"; to each their own. But it seems that more than a few guys on here assume that every woman on Earth is the same type of person after the same kind of things and I don't think that's fair. I think it's fine to not want to be in a relationship, but on what grounds? I'm simply trying to understand someone else's point of view, so please correct me if I'm wrong, but this movement seems to assume that being in a relationship inherently leads to a man relinquishing his self-ownership. Of course, relationships of any kind take mutual effort and often require some sort of sacrifice. But any relationship that makes someone feel like they've given up their sovereignty is just unhealthy and certainly not the case in every example.
