Alright men. I’m going my own way and buying a nice tv. Should I get a 80” tv that still looks really good, or should I get a 65” OLED tv which has a picture that’s just mind blowing?

Depends, if that oled is 4K HDR and you will watch 4K HDR content I’d go with that. But if you’re only watching cable and the occasional HD movie then the 80 will be worth it. Just my opinion.

IT guy here go for he new oled, You won’t regret it. HDRs are becoming outpaced by the newer oled diodes. Quality over quantity. Also the bigger the tv the higher the percentage you’ll likely get dead pixels over time.

My professional suggestion but it’s up to you to decide, young grasshopper.

Unless you have a really big room, stick with the 65". Big TVs in small rooms looks weird. I have a 55" and that's more than big enough for me.

With modern TVs the difference between top of the line and "pretty good" is negligible. Every TV today has incredible picture quality that we could only have dreamed of 10 years ago.

Depends on your distance from the TV when you’re using it. There’s a guide somewhere on the internet. It strains your eye if you’re lacking the distance when the screen is too big.

I would personally go for a big ass computer monitor instead so I could play games on the motherfucker aswell as watch movies. 4k 40" IPS monitor is the shit.

Work in the AV industry. Simple answer is there is such a thing as too large a screen. Sit where you plan to have the TV, hold your phone in a comfy viewing distance, and that is the right relative size. So measure to where you want the TV. If its 8 feet, go stand 8 feet from a 65" TV, hold your phone up, and they should appear the same size. Cheap easy way of picking screen size.

Now, OLED is just awesome tech, you want that for image quality.

What are you going to primarily using the TV for? How large is your viewing space? How many people will be watching it, and from what angles. Do you have other speakers? How much sun does the room get that the tv will be in, is the room south facing with windows, east facing, or west facing? Are you only going to be watching tv and movies?

For me, the biggest question is, are you wanting to game on it or not? Input delay trumps all other stats in my opinion, for a tv which you are wanting to hook up to a console or pc.
