Originally it was made illegal due to the spread of sexually transmitted diseases. I say even after the introduction of modern antibiotics it continued to illegal due to moral and decency standards at the time.

I saw a piece on MSNBC in the early 2000's on high priced escorts. The women they interviewed said that very few of their clients hired them for sex. These men were looking for someone to talk to because their wives were ignoring them. They'd spend four or five hours with guy who'd take them to dinner and back to their hotel room for a couple hours of conversation. They didn't want to sleep with them, they just looking for someone to talk to. We're talking about women at the time that got a minimum of $4K for an evening.

Imagine the insult that would be for a wife if it came out that her man was spending thousands on an Escort so he'd have someone to talk to.

regulated, clean and friendly whore houses with pretty girls completely erases any advantage women have over men in a society. you go on a first date and the girl is giving you the around trying to put you into her orbiter zone. fuck it. end the date, say thank you, run over to your good old local brothel and rub one out.

...if you live a life as this, then your decisions with women will be completely based on logic and non sexual attachment. you'll begin to look at women like you look at your bros or you co-workers. what do they bring to the table. do they communicate it well.

problem is once you completely take sex out of the equation, you realize most man woman relationships are not that deep, are sexually based and expecting deep intellectual stimulation from another women is exceptionally rare. women are creatures of feeling, not logic. take sex out of it and men quickly realize how different the genders are and how much they do NOT want to marry and give their life away to them. whores are anti-family, and anti-society, in that for society to continue with whores everywhere then marriage must revert back to being a business decision, a transaction among families for security and money, as it was for most of human history.

You are right. If prostitution is legal, a woman's value goes downhill fast. They know it. I mean why buy the cow when you can rent it on an as needed basis. And you can get a different cow every time.

Prostitution used to be legal in this fine country (USA).

In certain (Western) counties, prostitutes were pillars of the community.

Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington D.C., the same street the President of the United States lives on, was once dotted with whorehouses. Now it's dotted with lobbyist firms, which clearly illustrates America's decline in moral decency.

The reason we can't have nice things(like legal prostitution) is because of men, not women. Feminists can wear out their shoes whining about "human trafficking" and "sex slavery", but prostitution was banned by men. Why? Because the men who get busted for prostitution today are generally not the men making the laws. The men who make the laws have $1000/hour to spend on a HB9 call girl from a high-class madam who will maintain complete discretion. Then they get up, wipe their dicks off, and go give a speech about how feminist they are and how important the female vote is to them.

We are, in short, ruled by hypocrites.

My guess is a combination of Christian traditions (sex -> sacred act between husband and wife, easy access to sex don't push men into finding a wife) and as to prevent the spreading of diseases.
