They'll rule that the dog is being neglected since it's with a homeless man completely ignoring the fact that they threw him out of his own house during the divorce.
I saw a similar thing happen with a friend where they did the divorce court first to decide who gets what etc. Then they did the child custody trial and since the wife got the house from the previous trial he was deemed unfit to care for the child.

Honestly, every time someone brings up this argument, I cringe a little. Not that it's a false statement logically, but I think most of, if not all of, the men who GTOW are probably towards the top end and past the peak of the bell curve of intelligence. In short, we're expecting average or below average intelligence men to see what we, above average intelligence men, see and make good decisions i.e. eschewing marriage and LTRs because we have done the cost/benefit and risk analysis and see it's a shit deal.

Not saying its the only factor here, but, if you put a 100 IQ man and a 130 IQ man in the same situation, the 130 man will postulate and calculate far more than the 100 IQ man. Also, and this is purely anecdotal and I don't have hard science to back yhis up, I think that the biological drives of high IQ men tend to be muted, because so many synapses are firing for other purposes. I also think that nature doesn't reward intelligence over strength and virility in our species.

I suspect that while complex societies were advancing in technology and leadership complexity (~ 4000 BCE to late 1900s CE), human evolution favored higher 'IQs' (or more complex, ordered thinking at least). But devolving culture and access to baby birthing care to crap parents has been leading selection to favor those who are more given to base instincts than to those who actually think more about the future.

Actually you are on the right track but a little bit off, IQ is slightly related to delaying gratification which the pre-frontal cortex is partly responsible for. The pre-frontal cortex also helps manage emotional impulses. (Note these are general tendencies not absolute rules).

you're right. Intelligence is highly heritable and its heritability increases on richer families (see Eric Turkheimer's study).
Below some observations about what you said. The higher heritable a trait is, less important said trait is for survival.

I went to UC Berkeley and majored in Mechanical Engineering. Made a ton of really smart friends. Most went on to masters programs at similar or even higher level universities. 75% are now married. I have to assume they are just ok with the gamble of getting married.
