I am a college student and, as expected, I get to see a lot of relationships blossom and crumble every year. Being still new to TRP, I would like some advice, or suggestions on how to deal with the inevitable statement that crumbles guys' confidence who has been chasing a girl in a relationship when it ends. That being "I need some time."

To clarify: This is the response when you express interest in a girl who has recently broken up and she tells you that she needs time (presumably to get over the breakup) before she is willing to consider dating.

Now, when in my days of being the Nice Guy, I have always accepted it with a "I understand", "totally", "right, that is fine" and other such nice guy statements. I am ranting about this excuse because, from experience, four times out of five, this is a total bullshit statement. I see a girl claim that she needs some time and then see her next week wrapped around some guy. Yes, in SOME cases, she needs time, but I refuse to accept this excuse anymore.

Is the proper response to just forget about the chick and not talk to her again or is this a shit test that has some viable "right" responses?
