True that your phone is encrypted, but once its unlocked, it's not. Keep that in mind. And other countries may be able to force you to enter your passcode anyway, so there's that...

I don't necessarily have anything illegal on my phone either, but privacy is important.

That pattern game is pretty funny. And yes, a six digit passcode is far superior to leaving a smudge trail.

I had a friend who would enter any random digits to time lock people's phones. Mean prank when all you could do is make an emergency call to the police/fire for a day or two. I think Apple changed that when a few people's phones got bricked with a 10 or 20 year lock that even syncing wouldn't fix.

Edit: looks like it's mostly jail broken phones that have the long time lock.
