Holy fuck...this one just set me off today. This is a prime example that women are just logically detached. They have no concept of the risk/reward mentality that has always governed mens lives.

The difference now is that the scale is so heavily weighted toward risk that men have a clear picture of the eventual, statistically proven pitfalls; they are not worth the risk.

The problem is not the setting of boundaries. The Problem is the setting of new boundaries 40 years after they already consented and got what they wanted from the men, so that they're treated like victims and men are treated like they are criminal offenders. The problem is women are lying. The problem is men who have not been found guilty are being ruined.

I have two important points to make here.

Men AREN'T wired to perceive and dissect non-verbal cues the way women are. So from that standpoint, she's right - men don't have the social skills - but these are anything BUT basic. It's pretty significant evolutionary hardware and software that helps when dealing with infants (who can't speak) and helps them manipulate the social world (since they are a comparative disadvantage in dealing with the physical world - whether that's manipulating objects in space or exerting will through direct physical violence). Strange how the epistemological privilege that the feminists highlight as being victims of patriarchy isn't analyzed by themselves to figure out places where that same access to knowledge may make men VICTIMS OF WOMEN - particularly when it comes to sexual manipulation.
Women LIE. All the time. Not just verbally, but non-verbally. My old secretary used to touch me, stroke my arm, do stuff for me that could VERY easily have been interpreted as a sexual advance were the positions reversed. I've even had women touch me in appropriately on the dance floor when I wasn't sexually interested and they may have not been either. They are just EXPRESSING POWER by trying to manipulate their social environment, just like they always do.

They send mixed signals, sometimes unintentionally, sometimes willfully. Sometimes they send a signal, and the man doesn't get it. Sometimes they want to be alone, and the man thinks he's getting a signal. And they expect to apply the rule of law - to a domain where everything is feelings, subjectivity and hearsay?

THEY CAN ALL GO FUCK THEMSELVES. Unclear areas are PRECISELY THE AREAS THAT SHOULDN'T BE LEGISLATED.

And this is a much bigger issue than anything between the sexes. The logos is meant to cross the intersubject barrier - to try to create objectivity from subjectivity. If it's impossible to this - because the grievance is in the mind and not in the physical world (like a stabbing or a theft), then it can't be arbitrated fairly by a third party. And if a grievance requires a psychic or a mind-reader in order to arbitrate it - THERE SHOULDN'T BE A LAW ABOUT IT.

Not sure how it is in other places, but many women here in Munich tend to see hugging almost as a normal greeting. I have come to quite dislike it, especially when it's a woman I hardly know and/or with whom I obviously didn't have any meaningful interaction. Recently refused to hug a friend's female friend and it led to kind of an awkward situation, but I'm glad I did that. A few months ago, when I was still in the army, I used the phrase "don't shit where you eat" in reference to how all of the dumbass bros there were trying to hookup with the new girl, and I was promptly told 1) "Who the fuck says shit like that?" and 2) "That a wholly unacceptable thing to say about a woman!"

I have since ETS'd and at least 5 of the dumb bros got sexual harrassment claims put onto them. IMO she was justified in doing it.

The problem, in all seriousness, is that #metoo isn't about "simply setting boundaries." As somebody pointed out, the difference between "wanted and unwanted advances" isn't objective. It depends to a considerable degree on the SMV of the male making the advance. And that SMV changes context to context, and with social media can tank in an afternoon without the guy even knowing it.

If the boundaries were simple, I think most men would be able to deal with #metoo. Instead, it has every male scratching his head wondering whether it's going to hit him, too, and not because he thinks he deserves it.
