Introduction

The modern western woman's "feel first, think second" nature leads her to believe that her emotions should be respected, regardless of circumstances.

I am currently playing TRP on hard mode as a monogomous member of a relationship. I approached my girlfriend on Friday about the fact that she is still "friends" on Facebook with two men she had sex with in the past. I told her I wouldn't tolerate it, and she could either adjust her social media contacts, or exit our relationship. In addition, I informed her that she had lost a great deal of respect and trust due to her indiscretion. In the interest of continuity, I would add that she has not contacted these men since our relationship began. I wasted a few minutes of my precious time to investigate the possibility that she was still in contact with any men, and my sleuthing returned no evidence. In general her attitude towards me is fierce loyalty. She immediately agreed to rectify the situation with no resistance. She offered the explanation that she just hadn't considered the need to remove old boyfriends or friends with benefits from her contacts. I responded that her explanations had no weight, only the evidence before me matters, and my trust and respect would not be easily earned back. At this point, she became very sorrowful and apologetic.

In my mind, after the conversation was concluded, the issue was dealt with and behind us. I had no plans to rub her nose in it or use it against he in any way. Her immediate solution and apology was what I required, so there was nothing further to discuss.

Ah, does my naivety know no bounds?

By monday, her hamster had completed a triathalon, and she wanted to talk.

Apparently, my removal of trust and respect had made her feel things. Horrible things. Unspeakable things. She read me a letter she had written me, which could be best summarized by this statement: "Regardless of what I did, you need to understand that my feelings deserve respect, and my feelings are hurt."

After enduring a verabal Rope-a-dope that would have made Ali proud, I took a deep breath and prepared to deliver my rebuttal. I started with a crisp jab. "When you screw up, you forfeit all rights and respect." I followed with another jab, since the first one landed so nicely. "Emotions are always, always, always wrong. Never trust them, they are a lie." She had taken a step back at this point, but didn't get her gloves up. Her mistake. I brought the right cross. "Emotions are just an outward expression of an internal thought. Find the thought, and you will figure out why you're feeling an emotion." The cross dazed her, she was trying to keep up but it was dawning on her that the uppercut was on its way. "The thought behind your emotions is that it's wrong that I don't trust or respect you. But why don't I trust and respect you? What caused that?" She lay quietly on the mat, before slowly retiring to her stool in the corner of the ring. "Because I messed up." She didn't offer any more arguments, apologized again, and everything is now fine. She now understands not only the consequeces for her mistake, but also that her emotions hold absolutely no sway over me.

Conclusion:

"Feel first, think later" is a system that women try to force upon men, because it is their default. Showing them the root of their feeling is, in my opinion, the most effective way to diffuse it. It not only shows the woman how foolish she is, it reinforces your leadership and superiority.
