I read that post about how The Best Man Wins and am calling full and utter bullshit.

If winning is keeping another guy from fucking your wife/fiance/girlfriend, then get used to losing motherfucker. "I lost out to a better man" is some pussy shit you tell yourself to deal with your emotions when a woman does what a woman's going to do.

She could have just gotten bored in an hour and fucked a delivery man. She might have had a bad dream about you and checked out of the relationship because of her 2 AM feels. Was he better than you? I don't know. You can tell yourself that if it makes you feel justified, but I think a simple truth has eluded all you guys who have a set of 127,000 Rules for Being TRP Solid and Never Losing:

The man who shows up is the most likely to get what he wants/needs.

The problem with most of you guys even before you came to TRP isn't that you weren't fucking winners. It's just that you didn't goddamn show up. Your wife pissed all over you, so you retreated into your shell. You didn't show up to the fight.

Saturday night? You stayed home playing video games because you thought you were not good enough for/better than the girls at the club/library/grocery store/DMV. You didn't fucking show up.

Instead of learning new skills, you jacked off over your keyboard. Instead of taking that class, you sent 1,000 text messages to that one girl about how you're going to take that class. You didn't show up.

The whole time you pissed away opportunities, your real honest eager self was banging on the basement door in your brain trying to get the fuck out. You didn't let yourself out. You weren't allowed to escalate with women or assert some real intensity in a challenge like a race or tournament. You weren't allowed to experience a life of real fucking consequences.

Most of your problems (mine too, everyone's really) are that you just don't engage the situation. You don't have fun. You don't get out there. If a woman goes off and cheats on you, sure you can reexamine what happened, but don't pander to your own sense of loss by writing a song about how she was stolen by Chad the Winner. That downplays all your hard work, puts that bitch on a pedestal, and sets you up to feel like a loser again the next time it happens.

If you're not ready for a revolving door of women to come and go in your life, then don't get out there. Clearly you're just waiting to feel like a loser again.

But if you're ready to go, "Oh, that's life. Live and learn. Upward and onward, motherfucker," and not set up women as your condition for winning, then by all means get out there and have some real experiences.

Lesson: Winning is doing whatever makes you fulfilled, regardless of the possible pain and the outcome.
