I'm from Germany and it's actually not that bad.

The court ruled against the minimum height specifically because it was different for men and women.
Currently, the lack of minimum height is temporary until a state-wide law is passed.
The shorter candidates may now formally take part in the application process but will probably be rejected for some other reason.
