From thursday morning to Saturday afternoon I was on an expedition and camping trip. We had a group of 7 boys 16-17 years old, myself included, and a group of 5 girls also in the same age range. On the first day my group travelled 18km through the countryside and farms and made it to the campsite at about 5pm. The girls came 2 hours later despite them starting at the same time as us. The most annoying girl came to us and told us about how many more breaks they took so that's why they were late. They started to make it a competition as to who would get to the next campsite. No one in my group cared for their competition and just decided to carry on as we normally would, without any rush. The next day they got up early so they could get to the next campsite first. They got an hour head start. However despite this we still made it to the campsite 20 minutes before them and only took two breaks out of the whole 5 hours of travelling 15km up hills and down. They then began making excuses again when the arrived and my friend joked about it and one of them asked to fight him and then did that again with another friend. It was so pathetic, it was like they were trying to prove something to us even though we did not care and did not rush the journey like them. On the final day, they had a 20 minute head start, we decided to go slow this day as we were tired, despite all of this we still made it to the end of the 14km at 3:20pm while they arrived at 5pm. They pretty much just ruined the trip as they constantly tried to compete with us and be rude to us. Finally starting to realise why women feel the need to justify themselves.
