Exactly. I was politically left when I grew up. A.k.a. "Sounds great to be nice to others". The hypocrisy there (such as ALL of feminism, which is ALL fundamentally man-hating) taught me that most of these folks are basically using the variants of "don't be selfish" shaming to simply get everything that they can out of you.

Until you end up stressed out, burned out and as a former shell of yourself.

I might well give back to society in the future. But it will be a from a position of strength, on my own terms and only when I feel like it. And after I have established a base, my own space, you could call it a safe-space even (LOL), where I feel secure and can sufficiently detach from the bullshit around me to do so.

The more all these fuckers vote for further authoritarian, unnerving, annoying and otherwise neurotic encroachments of my privacy and well-being, financial or otherwise, the less I feel encouraged to share anything I acquired with others.

Note also that the tradcon has their own variant of selfish-shaming to get at you.

My theory is that human beings are naturally selfish and will always look out for themselves first, family & friends second and strangers third, that's why we usually don't talk to or help people in troubled situations and have to consciously make an effort to do that

I have to admit I am pretty self serving myself. I tend to speak up more when there's something I need or want. I don't have a big desire for a large social circle at all though. I do acknowledge my deficiency and actually plan to retrain myself to be more personable and open. I don't take it personally if someone calls me out for it because I don't see personality as being all that personal.

To me it's all just learned stimulus response based on the environment one has lived in to date, along with DNA. Anyone can change themselves through practice, repetition, and experience and using little tricks like you'd use to train a dog.. for example have a little mini reeses peanut butter cup along with you and only allow yourself to have a piece when you do something you would consider to be "positive" in a social situation. This is how you train a dog to learn a command right? Our emotional brain is not much different. It forms new connections based on stimulus response.. positive or negative, and gradually learns to crave or avoid new situations. The more you do something, the easier it becomes...

I'm one of them "self proclaimed nice guys" who really wasn't all that nice.

First, MGTOW is not a movement. It's an idea. It's a philosophy. It's in the hearts and minds of any free man. So there are no laws, no amount of shaming, no coercion, that can stop a man who has gone his own way.

Second, critics can only attempt to shame a free man. That's all they have. Just meaningless words to attempt to get you back on to the plantation and drudge away for women.

What movement? This is a lifestyle which is much better in my opinion. Of course I'm selfish. Why not? I work hard. Pay all my bills before time. Pay my overpriced taxes without asking much in return. I keep myself in top health and shape so I don't cost the government any money at all for hospital visits etc.

Why not put yourself at first? Rather spent my time and money on me and some of my very close red pilled friends than on a woman just cause she has a vagina. Ironically the more you do that the more vagina you get but that's not the point or the goal at all.

Tbh I wasn't selfish most times and i regreted it, lately I think one SHOULD be selfish with everything, time, money and emotions. Really no matter how much you give to other people you will almost never get the same back. And the ones telling you not to be selfish usually never gave you anything in the first place. It's the ultimate hypocrisy.

Hey brother, there is nothing wrong with looking out for your self-interests as priority. It's the smart thing to do. The MGTOW philosophy is very in-line with this, as are political ideologies such as voluntaryism, libertarianism, anarcho-capitalism, etc.

I read a book a couple years back by Ayn Rand titled "the virtue of selfishness". If you haven't heard of it, maybe give it a look. I loved it.

humans are social creatures. social order has evolved the psychological development of the ego. the ego is of use when dealing with a tribal and social society. Problem is how often our ego tricks us. one of the biggest ways is that we ourselves are defined by the tribe and society we live in. thus we should get married and have kids and not be alone.

once you shed yourself of that and realize the chaotic nature that is reality and the natural world, isn't selfishness all there is left. if all that i really have in my life that is going to give me meaning is my physical self and mental experience, why dedicate my precious time to helping those weaker unless i want to have kiss and pass on a blood line or estate.
