Hello all,

I've been around this subreddit in some capacity since its inception, and I'm glad I found the manosphere as young as I did (I'm a 20 yr/old student, home for the summer).

Of course I've been lifting, working, trying to busy myself with projects, subscribed to /r/becomeaman (which I would recommend even though it seems a bit inactive lately) but it's gotten to about midway through the summer and I've almost fallen into a state of fatigue/contentment.

What I've realized about myself is that I can tap into a sort of "inner rage" to light a fire under my ass and get motivated--but more often than not it turns into self-loathing (inner monologing like, "get off your ass, you lazy fuck" etc.) and that sort of shit is positively detrimental to the 'alpha', cool-under-pressure, James bond-esque persona and inner game that I'm trying to cultivate.

I guess part of the problem is that even since reading PUA and RP stuff, I have yet to do one cold approach, but I guess I always figured I wasn't "ready" yet, in te sense that I haven't arrived at a point of social or physical confidence to succeed in gaming just yet.

I guess what I'm trying to open up for discussion is this: How can you keep an alpha mindset even through periods of relative boredom/satisfaction without resorting to self-loathing?

Hopefully that makes sense. It seems like there's a balancing act. You need to be confident and not give a fuck, but you also have to be pushing yourself.
