Proud that I pulled the trigger and deleted my account on facebook back on 2011. 6 years free (going 7 this year) from all of that bullshit and I couldn't be more happier. Meanwhile my friends are glued to their screen and wasting time on IG/Twitter and all that crap, so much for being millennial. Sigh.

Humans evolved a set of social mechanisms over millions of years that social media can't take into account. For example we developed complex body language and things like blushing because language in itself isn't enough to convey meaning. Everyone experiences this on Reddit, for example, when their sarcasm is misunderstood and had to develop the /s to compensate. We even communicate through smell in the form of pheromones.

Another point is that humans were limited to the number and type of interaction they could have based on different factors such as geography. Being able to instantly communicate with nearly anyone anywhere on the planet and any time has never been done before, and IMO causes serious psychological and social problems.

Tl;dr - evolution instilled a form of communication that online interactions can't take into account, and this causes disturbance on the individual and social levels.

If you're like me then social media will just be the first step. I can no longer tolerate most media. Certainly no news, and the vast majority of movies, tv, and music are just as bad. I entertain myself through MGTOW subreddit, documentaries, and books.

Yup, Social Media is such a fascinating psychological study and I am glad I was there when it was created and got to watch it, simply for the knowledge of history alone. Especially here in LA I have spoken with several women who have NO CLUE about guns at all, yet parrot the media slogan they hear over and over.

In decades we are going to have solid proof that Social Media has MUCH more of a negative impact on a human psychology than positive.

And I do not consider forums like Reddit and other Political/Science/History forums to be social media. I know that is a fine line and many think it is, but to me a discussion forum is different from social media specifically.

Facebook is the only Social Media platform I have left and I post something about once every three months. Sill have some clients and I will admit it is a great way of every now and then looking at what old college friends are doing. But my Facebook feed is nothing but kids and babies, I have purposefully deleted any friends who are hyper partisan, just can't handle it.

Sooo.. I truly don't care what Americans do with weapons and what not..But can I just ask you.. Why do you need assault rifles? And in what situation do you plan to use it? I'm not necessarily anti-gun, but I don't see the point in having these kind of rifles and I want to understand why you'd buy them

Truth.

There is a huge inequality when it comes to what kind of hamstering is allowed on a site like Facebook. Propose a nuanced look into harassment, or maybe look for a deeper insight into what creates a school shooter ... and it's like the pitchforks and torches come out. However, most of the left-wing drivel is allowed to stand, fester, and digitally procreate.

Unfortunately, because I work for a liberal-leaning institution, I am effectively silenced for having any views contrary to the mainstream liberal ideology. The issue isn't that my views are even that alt-right, but rather that I could get fired due to the shitstorm of lockstep brigaders that could descend upon my workplace at a given notice.

I live in a blue state, so this could be absolutely amplified. I am effectively silenced. Feminists are now the oppressors they claim to hate with such vitriol.

While part of me wants so desperately to cry foul, social media is not a game anyone outside the narrow path of thought can successfully navigate. I will subvert the system by making my sons as red pilled as I can. With their mother now doubling down on radical feminism, I stand a good chance at achieving this before they become adults.
