Look at what happened to black culture after 1988...

...They went from the greatness of Motown and then BOOM you had "gangsta rap" in less than 4 years.

Where did I say it took 4 years for it to appear? I said that the popular music genre that had its roots in the tradition of Motown was supplanted as the popular genre of music listened to by black Americans very fast after 1988, and in 4 years it was all but forgotten among young black Americans in exchange for Gangsta Rap artists.

That is why people in 1988 listened to Billy Ocean, Lionel Richie, and Aretha Franklin fairly regularly, and by 1992 (yes after NWA, Public Enemy, Salt-n-Pepa and others) landed firmly into listening to Snoop, Dre, Ice Cube, TuPac and on and on.

Double whammy of welfare state (i.e. big daddy government will simply pay $ for single mother breeders) and no fault divorce laws occurred between 1964 and early 1970s.

Granted, another trend from the early 1970s until now consists of more working women (those who aren't welfare leeches) deciding they don't want to marry, but the vast majority of these women still do.

The final wave of the increase in children born out of wedlock is coming as men who identify as MGTOW, or simply will not marry based upon what they've witnessed happen to their own fathers, uncles, cousins, etc., decide to never marry.

Point is, this graph will continue to grow.

Why care societally? Kids from single parent families have far more troubles and poverty in life. This is scientific fact, not my opinion.

And. In the decades to come, we'll see hoards of older people, but particularly older women, struggling to literally eat without government intervention.

For every welfare breeder, their checks will shrink substantially as they can no longer breed checks.

For most of the woman denied marriage because men have opted out, they will struggle mightily as the very real $ cushion of having a man around via marriage, or the very real $ cushion of having the option to divorce rape a man, won't be possible. Cohabitation may theoretically present a means to provide a $ buffer to these women, but seriously, why would an old decide to shack up with an old women. Cheaper for that old man to go it alone on many levels.

If you want to go back to the 1950s you're going to have to accept that your employer owns you from 22 until 65. You need that company pension. Get fired once and word gets out you're not a team player. You're pretty much untouchable. Boss called you a faggot and took a shit on your desk? Get out a spoon and eat it up. Remember to smile. Don't worry, if you grovel enough maybe someday you can outlive your boss and then you get to shit on people.

But when you get home your frigid, passive aggressive wife will have your smelly slippers ready and supper on the table (she probably spit in it). Your freshly scrubbed children will be seated in their places, quietly trembling so you don't backhand them in the mouth like you did yesterday (after all, the boss took a shit on your desk today so they deserve it).

Fast forward forty years. You can finally retire! You had a couple of small heart attacks already, and all those years of cocktails and cigarettes have taken their toll. The doc says no cancer so far! You should have a few good years before then, then about six months. Whatever kind of cancer you've got, it's pretty much a death sentence. So enjoy some golf while you can! Your wife has to come with you. Where else can she go? She doesn't talk to you much anymore, and the kids rarely come to visit. They're a bunch of dirty hippies anyway, having sex with each other like filthy degraded animals. You mean to give them a piece of your mind about their degenerate lifestyles when they show up for the next obligatory family Christmas.

I'm older than some of the young MGTOWs here. I hope I can ground truth young guys' vision of the 50s/60s before we all get old and leave them to their fantasies. I grew up in a small red state town in the 1960s which, being behind the times as small rustic places tend to be, was more like the 1950s.

Fathers were exhausted, stressed, and angry. My luckiest friends were not abused. The unlucky ones were. Mothers spent all day scrubbing things and complaining about kids messing things up as fast as they scrubbed them. Dinners were frequently out of cans (yay, Hamburger Helper and Jello!) because moms were fed up and exhausted. Husbands felt humiliated by their wives' backtalk which they got from Gloria Steinem and the show Maude on TV. "Yay, we're all equal now!" But they really weren't, because few wives had jobs or not decent paying jobs anyway. Men still had to earn almost all the money. This caused more stress, which combined with the humiliation husbands were feeling, led to alcoholism and spouse abuse.

TV (three channels) was everything then, our only national media since there was no internet. All the kids at school watched the same shows and got our catchphrases and jokes from them. My sister and I copied TV accents to lose our southern ones. My parents never did.

We got cheap food and school clothes once a year, and a few inexpensive gifts for our birthdays. We went to a doctor's office when we got mumps. We were about as cheap as raising kids could be, but still our parents were always broke. There was zero money for groceries the day before payday. My parents had zero savings, which added to their stress. Cars wore out faster, so most people had a car payment even if their cars were much simpler and cheap and unreliable by today's standards. Everybody went to church. I knew very few kids who didn't. They scared you into going with hellfire threats. We all thought atheists were evil. Everybody had guns, but they were more likely to be hunting-type guns than military type back then. Public places all had thick clouds of cigarette smoke. If you were behind another car in traffic it smelled like unburned gasoline. Even in our small town there was crime. Stores were held up regularly. Shootings and assaults, etc. especially in the poor part of town. Everybody was really afraid of nuclear war. It wasn't a far off North Korea regional thing.

We were small town working class, not poor. Poor was all of the above but worse.

Positive things: If you went to the countryside to hunt or hike or whatever, you wouldn't see as many people. I still can't get used to hiking trails with so many people they look like Disneyland. Most people were less fat, even though adults never exercised. Then as now, moms would go on diets for a couple weeks or do Jack Lalanne in front of the TV. There was no "fake news" back then. TV news shows had editorial programs but they were clearly labeled as opinion. There was no internet and a videocamera was the size of a bowling ball, so you knew when you were being watched. Tapping a landline phone was something police did with a warrant, not a random hacker from Uzbekistan. I never heard of anyone losing their house for medical bills.

tl;dr Lots of things sucked back then. Different things suck now. It's so different it's really hard to say which was better on balance. I know personally I'm so much happier as a fit and healthy (never married/college educated/secular) early retired MGTOW. Happiest time of my life. :)
