Stereotype threat and The Pygmalion Effect are nothing new to social psychologists. That said, this study is like picking 50 men and 50 women who can both bench 200lbs, and then being amazed they both bench 200lbs. A larger sample size of say, public school 8th graders, where they gave the test and controlled for stereotype threat would likely show something very different...and get no funding.

No sure if this belongs on The Red Pill. It seems more Purple Pill.

There are hundreds of studies like this that have gotten mildly interesting results, but when you refract back and look at the field as a whole, there aren't many clear patterns that come out. It's a patchwork of different scientists biases. Social psychology is notorious for this.

Always take these studies with a grain of salt.

So I'd be skeptical of this study.

I recently read The Art of Learning and the author mentions a study that is very similar to this that isn't divided by gender. I don't believe gender is the defining element in the test you supplied.

They don't have to succeed. They don't have to push their limits.

Education/business underachievement does not make them fall from grace. Not how their market price is set. Not the ground their SMV is based on.

During history, it was the man who was obliged to achieve. Man was shamed in case of failure. Low status (blend of underachievement, low prestige, lack of wealth, poor social rank etc) meant disaster for man.

OTOH game changers for women are good genes (suggested by good appearance, beauty, smooth skin, long shiny hair, waist-hip ratio, lushness/fitness) and fertility.

Can't remove millenia's evo-psych with decades-long fashion!
