Ever had your testosterone levels checked? There's a few symptoms of low T in what you describe here. If you are low, then getting that taken care of will make a hell of a difference (so I've read - I'm only just investigating myself).

On a psychological level, you need to figure out what you WANT. You're coasting. So am I right now, and it frustrates me, I just don't WANT anything enough to strive for it.

In theory, we figure out what we want, then we figure out a plan to get it, then we set about making it happen.

Thoughts I've had along this direction tend to come down to throwing yourself into a whole new environment in some way, mix up the status quo and give yourself that new fresh start energy. While you're stuck without any real direction you want to go in, I was thinking perhaps something where your job pretty much is your life might be useful to take some responsibility out of your hands while your brain gets its shit together to figure out what YOU want. Accommodation as part of the job and preferably with a strong social side to give you that natural college-style camaraderie with other people in the same situation. For example, military, or something on the ocean - cruise ships or merchant vessels or something.

In my defence I never finished these thoughts but it was some ideas I had. Right now I'm getting my testosterone levels checked and I'll see how things go from there, if I'm low then it explains a lot on its own.

You have some good self awareness, and it's totally normal for that to not happen until well into your 20's. Time to act on it.

Identify exactly what progress you want to make. Soul search. Meditate. Figure out the path you want to be on. Figure out how to get on that path, then make some moves.

Do you want to live with/take care of your mom? Are there better opportunities for her in other states or cities?

Do you want to stay at the job you're at now (potentially, with a raise/promotion/new position)?

Do you want to enter a new field? A new company? Start your own?

Do you want an education?

Do you want to be in the military?

Do you just want to get fit and fuck bitches left and right?

You'll be shocked how many jobs don't require a diploma. You'll be shocked how many that do require it never check your GPA. Often, a degree is a degree (just don't get suckered into an online degree...)

They'll ask why it took you so long to finish, and when you explain the situation, you'll look head and shoulders above most others. Most people have it easy. Most don't have to try. To overcome so much adversity says a lot of your character, whether you realize it or not.

Keep your head up. You've done so much already, you can certainly tackle whatever is next.

Watch the original Rocky movie without distraction.

Forget the boxing per se; absorb his struggles with simply living and balancing against his mission. Yeah there is Adrian but that is part of the story and part of life -- he def put her on the back burner, not allowing her to interfere with the work or wreck his dream.

Afterward, think on it for awhile and find out what your own mission is, then pursue it as singlemindedly as Rocky did.

That movie, btw, is a metaphor of the making of the movie itself. Stallone had to pursue it as deeply and singlemindedly as his character did.

Not a Rocky/boxing/Stallone fanboy, but the entire phenomenon from reality through story is about as RedPill as it gets.

Firstly I would stop the anti depressant, they are in most cases not a cure, but merely mask the symptoms of depression. Your brain needs to readjust and form natural healthy pathways on its own, and generally anti-depressanta hinder this. Obviously consult medical advice in this, but in my opinion it will aid you long term. Source: personal and friends experience, those on antidepressants are all still depressed, those who got off them or didn't take them at all are generally less depressed or not at all any longer.

However this is a minor issue, similar to myself of your greatest problem is a lack of clear direction. The question "what do I want?" Is perennially on my mind but I always come to the same conclusion; i don't desire anything that strongly, and while some pursuits seem better than others I cannot decide on a path to start down. I am coming to the realisation that of my options I must simply pick something now, which seems the best for me, dedicate myself to it and hope that it reaps rewards. Otherwise you will never reach for anything, and the opportunity will slip by.

My avenues are either teaching, personal training, psychology or starting one of various business ideas.

So I suppose my advice is to simplify your life down to potential choices you can make, remove the option of not acting and then simply make a decision stick with it. It may not work out great, or even good, but giving yourself the chance to achieve greatness and failing is better than settling for mediocrity.

Also remember personal improvement us a long haul, it is hard, but it is highly rewarding. Take the victories you can, learn from failures and do whatever you can to rove negative input in your life.

Oh and ditch the girl. She will only hinder you going forward. All her negativity will only breed more in your head and prevent you overcoming your own issues. How are you supposed to come to terms with a difficult past when someone else is constantly forcing you to focus on their problems over your own?
