Constantly seeing many new posts asking "is it selfish if I go my own way?" And the answer, is yes.
And there is nothing wrong with that. At all. We're living in a time where it is more dangerous than ever before to look favorably at collectivism. Become too altruistic, and you risk becoming a doormat if you're not too careful. Not only that, but women especially will take advantage of your kindness, as is their nature to extract as many resources from a "provider" as they see fit.
So, yes, while GYOW may be selfish, there's nothing inherently wrong with that when you're living in an age where it's more of a personal risk to yourself to become overly selfless (some will refer to this specifically as pathological altruism).
To live for others is the source of all misery. Avoid misery.
