I spend every day working around this girl, so I'm exposed to all the drama in her life. I know she's attracted to me, but I won't shit where I eat.

She never reveals anything about her sex life to me directly (although she does confide in an orbiter and female coworker). But I'm sharp enough to put the pieces together.

She's been in a terribly depressive state the last few days, purportedly due to her friends and their drama among other things. She told me that her "friend" revealed her "kill count" to her boyfriend of 6 months. And now her boyfriend won't even touch her, he's so disgusted.

The other day, she asked for my opinion as to what her friend should do (as my heart started pounding... knowing I was entering dangerous territory, but still wanting to give an honest answer). To which I replied that the relationship is absolutely doomed. It's going to eat him alive, and inevitably will end badly. She asked me how I would react. I told her I'd react much the same way, as being with someone with a promiscuous past would make me feel "less special" (tactful, right?). She and our other coworker agreed with me. Phew. Crisis averted.

She spent most of today pouting and listening to sad break-up music, confirming my suspicions that it was not her friend in the above story. I overheard her talking to the orbiter about how she had to "let him down easy" (the boyfriend). So I guess she took my advice to heart and let the guy go.

I may be getting too involved in the drama, but I can't really avoid it. The truth is, I felt vicariously ill for the boyfriend. I can imagine the feeling - knowing that your little snowflake has had bigger, better, faster, smarter, stronger than me. That I'm buying the cow after it gave away its milk for free.

Let me ask you this, gents. Do you think she'll be even remotely honest about her "kill count" to her next boyfriend?

I feel truly sorry for the next guy. He's in for a world of hurt.
