Living in a meritocracy is a feminist's worst nightmare. It forces them to create entire encyclopedias of excuses for why women can't compete with men, even when the playing field is slanted towards women (affirmative action).

Feminism is literally a religion at this point. Where things they can't explain are attributed to some ethereal, unprovable concept.

Women are awful at anything creative. They lack originality. Good move on the movie studios part. They are trying to minimize losses.
